When I get the car all legal for the road, I'll post pics. thrlls 09-18-2003, 02:01 AM Since when are you so concerned about being legal? Legalities never stopped you before! Like I said, :needpics :checkered The Beastmaster 09-18-2003, 02:57 AM What a hard crowd to please ! Here's a teaser! Let's see hardtop and an 8 in its designation. Could this be it? ja///Mnn 09-18-2003, 05:37 PM Nice ride man!   Can I take it for a test drive? RDR-EURO 09-18-2003, 11:41 PM Thats a sweeeeet ride!!!  thrlls 09-19-2003, 02:50 AM Damn you! You Bimmer whore! :checkered thrlls 09-19-2003, 02:55 AM Of course knowing you, this is not your car. But please if it is, drive to my house so I can see it, or I may have to drive pass your house. Sounds/looks like you are up to no good! But if it is true, Damn you, you Bimmer whore....:D You would now have a 5, 6, 7, 8!!!! :checkered The Beastmaster 09-19-2003, 03:06 AM It could be a 3er cabriolet. Then I would have a 3, 5, 6, and 7. The Beastmaster 09-19-2003, 03:43 AM Something like this? thrlls 09-19-2003, 11:09 PM These pictures all look like they were taken in the mainland. I still say you are up to no good! :checkered Gene V 09-20-2003, 02:59 AM Originally posted by The Beastmaster No pics yet, but it is a convertible with a hardtop with an 8 in its designation don't see an 8 in the 3er cab designation...:D The Beastmaster 09-20-2003, 06:56 AM 328ic? It has an 8. The Beastmaster 09-20-2003, 07:21 AM Originally posted by thrlls These pictures all look like they were taken in the mainland. I still say you are up to no good! :checkered Me??? Up to no good??? I guess my character (or lack of) is one that does not befit my duties as CCH President and I must be removed immediately! Since hehad such an excellent reading of my character, I say thrlls should be the next President! Anyone second the nomination? IslandS62 09-20-2003, 02:01 PM 2nd! I'm back all...poorer rather than richer :( Another new car Bri?? Is it "Aubergine" also? I say you should get ALL purple cars :) My guess is a 328ic, but a nice Z8 at club meetings would be nice to see. Or hell, find a custom Stramann 850i droptop. The Beastmaster 09-20-2003, 08:07 PM There is another Aubergine E39 running around in Honolulu! I believe it is a 528i. The new car? It's Alpine White III. Thanks guys, I second the nominaton for IslandS52 ar Vice President! Motion is passed and we have a new slate of officers. :redspot thrlls 09-21-2003, 02:14 PM Welcome back IslandS52, but you are supposed to come back with more $$$$ not le$$. I assume when you say "2nd" you must mean second in command (VP) how nice of you. Did you get the message I left on your phone? Sorry I couldn't help. I guess I'm just not President material. Before the motion is passed, I think someone should let ZZZING know he will be the next President. Congrats IslandS52 on your V.P. position! I'll just continue my position as "outside advisory" member. :checkered thrlls 09-21-2003, 02:33 PM Here's a pic of my car the day I decided to do a little off-roading adventure. It's amazing what these cars can do on and off the road...:laugh The Beastmaster 09-21-2003, 06:52 PM That will not pass muster in the clean car contest! Did you lift in your offroad excursion? Was that with your sway bar removed? thrlls 09-21-2003, 08:15 PM This gives another whole meaning to Powder Coating...:laugh This was before the change over of the sways. I was taking lessons in this ride with a well know Auto xer who is a leader in the auto x here. He even went to the Nationals. I think the lesson was on, what not to do! :checkered The Beastmaster 09-21-2003, 09:20 PM Originally posted by thrlls This gives another whole meaning to Powder Coating...:laugh This was before the change over of the sways. I think the lesson was on, what not to do! :checkered Leaving your competition in the dust??? Eat my dust???:biglaughb :biglaughb :biglaughb How did the car feel without the rear sway? How did you do today? thrlls 09-21-2003, 10:14 PM I didn't go today. I stayed home and put some goodies on the car that I ordered from Leather Z and MPRESSION. I just got done...whew! I'll have to wait until Oct. auto x to see how my car handles with the stock rear sway and the RD front sway. I also softened the front when I tightened my front sway links, which the company that installed my suspension did not torque tight enough! I took it there, and was told I needed new ones, (was told they could get it for me at $52 a piece) I ordered two from Turner cost me $80 and when I tried to install, I noticed that my stock ones were just loose on the right side. Now I got some spare sway links! At least I didn't pay for labor, and the inspection. So, do you need any help with the circle island drive? I'll ask the next President IslandS52 to help you...:icon28XX: :checkered The Beastmaster 09-21-2003, 10:54 PM Help would be nice! Dale will lead the group of BMWs and MINIs around the windward side of the island. Then we'll picnic and swim at Kualoa Park. We should make our way into town by 2 pm so we can be at BME by 3:30 at the latest for the clean car contest. The route into town should include a drive and stop at the Pali lookout. As for prizes, I'm working on that. MINI should be giving some stuff. I still have to talk to Mike at BMW for prizes. thrlls 09-21-2003, 11:42 PM Swim at Kualoa Park?? Well I guess for some it will be okay. I'm sure IslandS52 won't be swimming. Maybe I'll just get my feet wet, walk on the sand, and then sit in IslandS52's coupe :devillook Nah, he has powerful toys :ar15firin Give me a call and let me know what I can do to help. :checkered The Beastmaster 09-22-2003, 01:45 AM The 30 minute swim is mandatory for CCC participants. thrlls 09-22-2003, 02:17 AM That's good, cuz I'm participating in the CCH circle island drive, not the CCC. Then I might participate in the Klean Kar Klinic. :tongue :tongue :tongue :checkered DesmoBob 09-22-2003, 06:31 AM opportunity to spear tako! :devillook IslandS62 09-23-2003, 09:36 PM So what did you get?! I am curious, because you say you need to get it "legal"... Maybe a... Jag XK8? Z3 2.8? Porsche 968? Ferrari 308/328? Actually these are "Targas" Ferrari Modial 8? http://www.motorheadtrader.com/userpics/86%20Ferrari%20passenger-rear.JPG Packard Eight? http://www.classiccarclub.org/_borders/1934%20packard%201101%20Conv%20Sed.jpg Triumph TR8? http://i12.ebayimg.com/03/i/00/90/c3/8e_1_s.JPG Plymouth Valiant V8? http://i14.ebayimg.com/03/i/00/9b/1a/ae_1.JPG Olds Delta 88? http://boomspeed.com/br099wc/olds04.jpg Thats it...I'm all out of Eights :95 The Beastmaster 09-23-2003, 11:07 PM It's a BMW and it is not a Z3 2.8. The car is not legal as I am having trouble transferring the title as the previous owners messed it up. Now they are travelling internationally and it's a pain to get a notarized bill of sale from them. They are also travelling separately. Since I can't transfer it, I haven't gotten the car insured. Btw, nice new sig. Car looks a little dirty, though! Where's the E30 325i? :( IslandS62 09-23-2003, 11:57 PM Is it another LT1 Vette-eating 318ic? I love the 325i but everytime I drive it I really wish it had a 5 speed :( Hopefully it will magically turn into this: http://personal.inet.fi/surf/porschenet/pics/944/944turbo.gif or this: http://www.eunos.com/keith/stripes/images/baby_new_rear.jpg The Beastmaster 09-24-2003, 12:30 AM Those are possibilities, but you have to talk to Dean about that! Mr. VP, What are some good prizes for the Clean Car Contest? Microfiber towels, Zymol, Gojo, Lexol??? The Beastmaster 09-24-2003, 12:52 AM There is a 944 turbo in the paper right now. $3900 firm. thrlls 09-24-2003, 02:41 AM I know, you got a VW Bug with a V8....huh? I like that Landau top on the Valiant! Mr. VP? You shouldn't call a President a VP, he is a VIP! ZZZING is the VP. So, like Beastmaster said Mr. President, what are some good prizes? How about some Dunlops! :D :checkered IslandS62 09-24-2003, 02:54 AM Microfiber towels are good. There are some good cheap items at Costco as well i.e. digital tire gauges, sheepskin wash mitts. Some BMW items are pretty inexpensive as well. BMW shampoo is $8 (Sonax) and wheel cleaner etc... BMW M cap $18 #99 00 0 002 896 M3 Horseshoe Key ring $15 #99 00 0 002 223 plenty of styles under $18 MPower key ring $10 #99 00 0 001 310 MPower Pen $18 #99 00 0 001 314 Logo valve stems Mugs etc... I like to win items vs. supplies that I use up...it seems more like a trophy. Actually, I don't mind trophies but I know some members find them to be dust collectors. Thanks for the heads up on the 944T, but a cheap car with unknown history is probably a false economy with this car :D IslandS62 09-24-2003, 02:57 AM For a couple G's you too can WIN 19" Dunlops and Hartges! BMW Hair..I mean CAR club. I'm not the President, I'm only a Member!! :) Reid 09-24-2003, 05:02 PM If it's a 328iC, you could sure use some M3 cams, M3 headers and M3 exhaust. ;) I hope to be able to bring my M3 out to the upcoming drive. I may even wash it for the event (though I wouldn't count on it). So what'd I miss? I've been away from the board for a while. The Beastmaster 09-24-2003, 05:38 PM Originally posted by Reid I hope to be able to bring my M3 out to the upcoming drive. Microfiber towels, Zymol, Gojo, Lexol??? hey wouldn't those be best for the loser of the CCC? i mean, the cleanest car owner probably has all that stuff... the last place guy probably needs it most. :biglaughb (DesmoBob, winner of the DCC dirtiest car contest) The Beastmaster 09-25-2003, 03:54 AM ;) IslandS62 09-25-2003, 04:02 AM If thats the trophy, please make sure it fits a 99 Mcoupe :D The Beastmaster 09-25-2003, 04:20 AM Nah, we're going to have Dinan stickers for the winners! It gives 5 hp per sticker. Still haven't figured out about prizes. Supplies v.s. prizes. It was interesting as your list was dominated by///M merchandise. thrlls 09-25-2003, 11:47 AM How about certificates for hours of repair or coolant flush jobs at BMW? Or BME? I thought the Dinan stickers produced 10 hp per sticker, and just the mention of the Dinan name was 5 hp. :checkered IslandS62 09-25-2003, 02:45 PM It was interesting as your list was dominated by///M merchandise. Is there anything else? :D hehe sorry about that, I had a BMW M lifestyle catalog on my desk...anyway, just thought that there was BMW logo stuff out there for "reasonable" prices. The Beastmaster 09-25-2003, 06:02 PM Originally posted by thrlls How about certificates for hours of repair or coolant flush jobs at BMW? Or BME? I thought the Dinan stickers produced 10 hp per sticker, and just the mention of the Dinan name was 5 hp. :checkered That's the problem with bench racing. Too many uneducated types make inaccurate claims on gains for performance products. Then, others believe it and spread it as the gospel. Dinan stickers are only worth 5 hp per sticker, not 10! :biglaughb As for certificates, I think we can get some from WGs.:alright It would be quite convenient as it is located in Hawaii Kai and has a storm drain right outside the building! The Beastmaster 09-26-2003, 02:12 AM :D thrlls 09-26-2003, 11:58 AM Nice, the hard top looks cool, but white is just not your color.:D WG's is okay, but I hear it will cost the club too much for the certificates. We should try B&O Euro Repair. They have two big water separater tanks there for ease of coolant and oil changes. Just open up the drain plugs and let it flow, not catch pans needed. Really cool place, and cheap! IslandS62 09-26-2003, 02:40 PM Nice cabrio Bri!! Are you going to paint the hard top to match the car or the car to match the hardtop? :D Wow 3 "new" cars in like 3 months!!! The Beastmaster 09-26-2003, 05:37 PM It's really strange as my friends were the original owners of the car and they wanted the black top! It matches the soft top, but I was thinking about repainting it. However, I had a power outage last night and looked at the cars in the dark and thought it would look pretty cool with blacked out windows! Actually, I bought the car for my mom so she could get rid of her Benz beater. Now she is thinking of keeping the beater and selling her MINI or shipping it to the mainland. She seems to like the contrasting colors and can still have a MINI in her heart with a two toned BMW. thrlls 09-27-2003, 08:12 PM So how's your mom on road racing? As she will be getting taunted by some young punks if they can't see her in that car due to the tint. But then again, it may be you in the car huh? :checkered The Beastmaster 10-10-2003, 04:18 AM Went to the dealer today and drove a Z3 2.8. It was a fun car with alot of get up and go, but seemed claustrophobic with the top up. All in all it was a very nice car. I think I might buy one next year. Just gotta get rid of the 750il. |
