The ebay auction closes in 3 hours.

My 15x7 OEM honeycomb BMW wheels are 20mm offset. According to catelogs, the Bolted Cross Spoke OEM BMW 17x8 wheels have 20mm offset.

I am trying to buy a set of wheels over the internet and the seller said I will need hubcentric rings. He responded to my email while I was out, but he is probably gone now, and I need answer in less than 3 hours.

Why would I need hubcentric rings? Are the wheels not OEM if they are they not hubcentric? Will I need different wheel bolts too? Would I be better off with a wheel that doesn't need the hubcentric rings?

thanks to anyone that can clear this up for me.

""""Most all BMW 5, 6, 7, and 8 series from 82 through 2001 came with a center
hole bore of 72.55 mm. In 1997 BMW came out with the E39 or new 5 series.
This vehicles center was slightly larger @ 74mm. So hubcentric rings are
used commonly and safely to reduce the 74mm center hole to 72.55 mm for a
perfect hubcentric fit on all the other cars. It basically prevents any
vibration by filling the gap and that is all. Everything else including
lugs, and bolt pattern are the same.""""

comments anyone? I guess this means I can safely bid on these wheels tonight.
