View Full Version : Happy Birthday, now give me $200

One thing that bothers me about GA is this property tax/registration on your birthday thing. I had to fork out $200 to register my car this morning. I know it is supposed to cut down on waits at the tax office, but it makes me really not want to have my birthday. At least it wasn't $400 like last year. Highway robbery IMO.

At least my car passed emissions w/ flying colors. I was worried due to my new chip and 130k mi (not to mention the miss I had at the dyno), but the car registered almost 0 emissions. Whew!

Anyway, just had to rant a little.

Ryan, your birthday is the same day as mine. I'm taking a half-day today and going to renew before I head up to Chattanooga/Nashville for the weekend.

Happy Fucking Birthday, huh? They'll lighten my pockets by about $300.

Well, try to enjoy Sunday. I know I will try!

Thanks guys. And happy b-day to you also, Aaron. I'm glad I don't own a ///M, your taxes have to suck.

Geordie, are you coming Sunday morning?

Yeh, checks and cash. No cards.

Just have the emissions, renewal sheet and your license.

I don't think its required, but it just makes it faster. You might want to bring your insurance card then just for verification of the vin, etc.

And why do I have to have my emissions, renewal sheet and license to eat an omelette? :95

1. They don't believe YOU have credit.
2. This is a public establishment, they need to keep the emissions to a minimum :fart2:
3. Like I said the renewal sheet is optional.
4. How do they know you are who you say you are.....how do I know your REALLY you.

:D

I used to, Georgia is worse (at least on property tax). Up until this past election this was a democratic majority state. NC has always been republican.

Happy birthday you old bastages...

Sorry - I've just got to enjoy it while I still can. Pretty soon some little punk like jimmy, who likes BMWs in the SOUTHEAST will be calling me an old, moldy fart.
