I'm looking to tint the windows on my wifes car. What % tint do you guys recommend? Has anyone been harassed for having dark tint?

the police around me have been cracking down in illegal tint. gwinett even had a tint stop recently.



what color is the car, and the interior?


i think most cars looke fine with 32% (legal tint line at ga, or is it 35%.. wahtever)


my friend has it on his m3 and it looks good (red ext, white int).

35% is the legal limit. I have 20%...you could probably go as low as 15% without getting harassed by the popo!

I have 5% sides and 20% rear...no problems yet :) But I wouldn't recommend 5% for ppl that are not used to it!

Whatever you do dont get 35%. It sucks. It doesnt block enough sun especially in GA. Its not that dark whatsoever.If you wee in another state maybe. Get at least 20% all the way around. What I did was get 5%(limo tint) on the back glass and 20% everywhere else. And ga state law is 35% tint allowed only. I had tint on my car for 5yrs and been pulled over once in cobb with my tint and didnt get a ticket due to my workaround.

here is a pic of my tint. Limo on back 20% everywhere else. I have a 9in limo strip on my front windshield as well. On the side shot u can see how much light still comes in on 20% so 35% is so much worse. It sucks.

I got your PM along with about 8 other people i dont even know. Im reluctant now on giving away the tip. It will look weird to have 9 bmw's asking for persmission to bypass the tint law at the same time.

35% if u want to play it safe and keep it a bit classier.

20% is u want a pimping look.

doesn't the tint law only apply to the front driver and passenger windows???

My stock WJ came with 20% on the back doors to the rear hatch.

I think it does apply to just the front two doors on an suv/mini van but on a car no windows can have it. I got pulled over 3 times for tint in cobb in the past 2 yrs. Suckers never can bust me.

Not for a car. Maybe a minivan/suv/truck. Back windows on the car all have to be 35% or higher.

please tell your secret because i was thinking about getting the front windows on my jeep tinted and i want them to be 20% to match the back windows but don't wanna get tickets.





btw, that law doesn't make sense then becuase alot of trucks don't have back seat windows like cars and suv's do.

I dont know how and why the laws are written but I do know off hand that cars cant have any glass darker than 35% and trucks cant have the 2 front windows darker than 35%. My brother and I and my friend have all gotten busted in window tint violations in cobb county. My bro has an isuzi trooper with all his windows limo'd out and he got busted. And I cant let my tint secret out. Sorry!
