View Full Version : new wheels
ReverendMaynard 09-04-2003, 07:15 PM I am putting some new wheels on my 91 M3, I am going with the M contour 17x7.5". with the stock fenders, what size tires do i need to get to clear? (sidewall height) will there be any change in camber front or rear from the larger wheel? any help is appreciated.
mmark. 09-17-2003, 12:28 PM I believe you will also need 15mm spacers to keep the inner aspect of the rim/tire from contacting the struts.

What offset are the wheels? You will need spacers if they are E36 wheels. 15mm or 18mm will work. Probably the best tire size for 17" wheels is 235/40/17. I got the Yoko ES100's and I really like them. They are quiet, grippy, and cheap. There are a lot of people that have them and like them also.
ReverendMaynard 09-17-2003, 09:22 PM sweet guys, thanks for the info.
ReverendMaynard 09-20-2003, 11:44 AM I am not sure of the offset, where can I get the spacers?
Thanks

ReverendMaynard 10-07-2003, 10:08 PM On regard to the spacers, I can't seem to find any spacers available for the E30 M3. All the other E30 models are covered, but not the M3.....can someone give me a link to some 15mm E30 M3 wheel spacers?? Thanks -

Fred 86 328i 10-09-2003, 11:04 PM Just wanted to clarify (since it's on topic): Is +25 the ideal offset for an M3 with 17x8.0" wheels?
Fred
mmark. 10-10-2003, 09:17 AM yes if sensible on tread width.
m.
The ideal offset for a 17x8 inch wheel is a +20mm offset. I run 235/40/17's and I have a little bit of rubbing at full lock, but most people do not encounter this problem.

ReverendMaynard 11-06-2003, 02:12 AM Nice looking car man. Does anyone know a good place to get the adjustable EVO rear wing?
sayer 11-12-2003, 11:05 PM I'm new the the world of E30 M3's after 5 years of loving my E36 M3. I have a set of stock E36 M3 staggered M countor wheels and wondering if they make sense to use on the E30 for street use.
- Will the 8.5" rears fit?
- Do I need spacers?
- Will the staggered setup unbalance the car?
- Are the wheels too heavy?
Thanks,
-Steve
