Anybody know of a way to silence the factory alarm system when locking and unlocking the car? This is on a 1999 E36 M3

It can be done, but I believe the lights will still flash.

that would be fine if the lights flash, do you or anybody have any idea how I would go about doing this or where i could find the information about it? I would really appreciate the help.

If you mean makeing the siren beep when you lock and unlock the doors, you hold the lock/unlocks buttons down for around 3 seconds or until the door locks make their sounds.

the aforementioned procedure doesnt seem to do anything for me. I wonder if we have slightly different factory alarm systems?

Lights dont flash on an E36 factory alarm/door locking system, correct? I thought you had to do the Radio Shack custom relay jobbie in order to get that functionality.

yes, you are right, the lights do not flash on mine. I want to figure out how to get it so the car gives no indication of anything unless it is being broken into.

I thought you just need to hold down the unlock button for a few seconds...

What kind of alarm fob do you have? Got a pic?
