so im heading back home from a long day of studying and the gym. long straight road for about 8-10 miles with no one on the road (its about 2am). i see the rear end of this car...one taillight is read...one taillight is "broke my tailamp and covered it with red ducktape but havent had time to fix it so now its faded orange" orange :D i pull up to the car and it turns out being a 4 door silver m3 (97 from the looks of it - 5spd). i remember seeing the same car in the school parking lot noticing that he had the taiwanese clears and the tail light looked a bit faded.....well..regardless....onto the race.

i pull up next to the guy and its 2 punk lookin white guys (early 20s) with their baseball caps on backwards (will the real slim shady please stand up?...:D ). they were checkin out my indiglos and tv and kept creepin up and half merging into my lane. obviously...i wanna hang so we get to the next stoplight. i give it a good old rev or two and let the triflo and ECIS sing.

light turns green...i dump the clutch and get an AMAZING takeoff. from there it was all downhill...my 1st to 2nd shift AS WELL AS my 2nd to 3rd shift ended up with the clutch not slapping which causes the revs to hang for about a second or two. pisses me off cuz this only happens (or at least it seems) during "good" races. regardless.....we went all the way up to like 90 or so and suprising my front bumper was at his rear. im sure the bastard didn't know how to drive all that well....but still. although i lost....it could've been a kill if my damn clutch didn't slip (i REALLY gotta start looking into an aftermarket clutch with all the racing i do).

that's been like my 5-6th M3 (stick) that i've raced...and suprisingly they're not ALL that fast (no offense guys). i gain confidence in my car everytime i race one. oh well...on to the next =)

(by the way...my performance affecting mods are ECIS/Triflo with 18" bbs rc's & uuc clutchstop)

iwant a turn,, pick me,, pick me,,, j/k
hey,, you may want to get heavy duty clutch if you run it pretty hard. i got an AA stage 2 and it holds quite well,, even with 419 ft/lbs of torque at the wheels.
have you ever run a 1/4 mile to see what numbers you're turning? i'm curious.

hey god-o-speed...i mean...tommy :)
im finally workin my way up the recognition ladder huh? gettin recognized by some of the big boys on the m3 forum. i dont have much to say in response to your follow up (dont have money to run the 1/4 mi yet...i'll probably end up using a gtec sometime over spring break...i'll let you know though). just wanted to take this opportunity tommy, to let ya know that you simply have THE baddest car on the street. it makes me almost giggle everytime i think about you just cruising around on the road....pulling up to saleen stangs...and just laughing. like you'd probably rather use the gas money it would take to spank that car to buy yourself a #3 combo at the local mc. D's  again, i LOVE your car and keep up the awesome work. by the way, in your signature when you write "stock looking"....i chuckled since those 4 point seatbelts just chillin inside your car were winkin at me the second i read that. hehe...if they only knew!

hey thanks,, yep,, the 4 pt belts look good,, i hardly ever use them. i got them for Christmas 2 years ago hoping to go to autocross but havnt been yet. the good news is that they kind of fold out of the way for regular driving and i can use the stock lap & shoulder belt. i think i'll use them tomorrow on the way to work just to feel them again...hehe,,, they feel pretty neat when all snug.
have a great week

actually,, in my opinion,, Blown compact now has the baddest car on the street (assuming he's picked it up yet) but mine is still more understated since he has the wheels and other signs shouting "look at me, i'm fast" i go more for the "oh please don't pick on me, i'm just a stock car" look,,, it works every time!!...lol
suckers....lol i just wish i could read the minds of the people who pick a race with me both before and after....
that would be very interesting.
i bet it would go something like this: "i'm gonna show that bmw guy a thing or two with that german engineering" then,,, "what the crap, my clutch must be slipping,,, what the heck just happened? he left me like i was standing still and i'm going 120+ now!!"
hehe,, if i could only know.
