We are considering buying a 2004 Imola 4.8is. I wanted to consult the high knowledge of bimmerforums about what you like or dislike about the car. :)

The car we are looking at in particular has 46,000 miles, is still under warranty, looks to be fully loaded and has been sitting at the dealership for at least 2 months, if not more.

They are asking $29,888.00, which is under KBB value. Though I would like to pay closer to $26,000. I haven't spoken with anyone at the dealership yet, but I will soon. I have a 2002 ML320 I would be trading in.

It looks as if it has been very well maintained. Imola is a gorgeous color, Im already in love with this car and I haven't even driven it yet! :D

Thanks for your time.

26K great price on the top of the line 1st gen X5. Anything more, too much esp in this market.Make friends with your local gas station as you'll be lucky to get 15mpg in mixed driving!

Beemerbuyer,
I am in a very similar position -- have been pricing 04 to 06 4.8 is and see many similar (incredible) deals. Did you end up making that deal? Would like to know how maintenance has been for these models....

You'll find mixed prices for a 4.8is, I have seen steals on them and I have seem them priced very high. It just depends on what you are looking for. But in this market you can probably get a deal on them. You will start searching for the best deal in town with gas prices the way they are. But I still have a hard time letting my foot off the gas. Its a great SAV to drive!

My brother just bought an '05 with 39K on it, we went all the way to Atlanta to buy it. He fell in love with the Imola Red with two tone Cream/Black interior and there were none here in Chicago. We love IT! its a monster.
