1 of 427 Granitsilber 8's built. The car is located in Japan with 60,000 miles. I've always known that certain imports there have to have the engine's swapped out with new ones and have special taxes which make the ownership of these cars very expensive, maybe this is why theres been a sudden wave of Jspecs going toward Canada for the past 4-5 years. Why are the Jspecs usually cheaper than the Canadian and US spec E31's?

The "wave" of low cost J-Spec cars is due to the taxes, insurance and other surcharges that are levied in Japan on one of these cars. Most people there cannot afford it so they are dumping these cars. It is a great opportunity, if you know what to look for and live in Canada. Alot of these have had poor or no maintenance, so buyer beware.
Wuffer could expand on this, since he sees the bulk of these cars.
