Has anyone installed the Navigation Television from www.navtv.com?
If so, can you do it yourself or do you need an installer? How is the reception of broadcast and quality of the screen?
Whatever details you have would be great.,
Thanks

Nav-tv is installed assuming you have the stock Navigation screen.
I don't think you should bother with this mod. I don't have it in my car, however, I use to have a pioneer LCD with TV/DVD functions.
Even with the TV antenna, you only really got half of the channels that can be viewed decently. Imagine how hard it is to get a good signal for a stand-alone tv for all channels, then imagine that in a moving car. Nothing but static.

channel 2,4,5,7,9,11,13 are very fuzzy? when you were driving was it very bad? does it depend on what type of antenna you have?

Well with the pioneer system,
I would only get the upper channels, bascially 7 and up. 2,4,5 were pretty much all blurry. I'm sure it depends on the antenna, but pioneer has some of the best interface equipment so I doubt I had a crappy antenna. Its just the way TV signals are. In a way its almost like cell phone service. Its good in some areas and not in others.
If you have the extra cash laying around go for it. But I'd rather just buy coilovers or an exhaust

NAV-TV is decent mod, but you really can't make use of it unless you get the DVD player... then it's really worthwhile. Plus, the major downside is NAV-TV is only available with a mono-audio output ( no stereo! ) which definitely is ODD.
It's worthwhile to point out that you can order the tv tuner module from BMW directly for way way way cheaper than the NavTV kit; however, it will not let you watch video if you are going over 5mph. You can get the conversion done by sending your module in to a different company for quite a bit cheaper.
For what the nav-tv alone costs, I decided to junk the nav option on the car (saved another 1300 bucks there) and i'm building my own custom car-pc based solution for audio/video/navigation. It uses a touchscreen too. Total cost is looking around 1.6-1.7K at this point and all the labor is my own. I'll post details when it's done.
