hello,

first post. i have a strange indicator light that came on the other day. i checked X5 manual and it refers to Exhaust Values for Canadian Models. What the heck does that mean since I reside in the states? Note that the indicator in the manual is the only item without a somewhat brief description. Any thoughts?

No idea... but I have a customer coming in on Monday here with the same indicator light coming on. I'll update next week when we find out what it is if nobody figures it out first.

My guess is that it's one of two things... either a fault that just needs to be cleared, or some software glitch that'll require the vehicle to be reprogrammed so that light doesn't come on again for any US vehicles. Either way, I'm pretty confident it's not anything serious.

Thanks for the reply. Does this mean the car was manufactured in Canada? I have spoken to several BMW owners and none have ever seen that indicator.

No, the customer that set the appointment today has a US spec vehicle too and we are all dumbfounded about what this might be. I'm looking forward to finding out.
