I got my '95 M3 repainted (cosmos black) almost 60 days ago and getting ready to wax it for the first time. Is there anything I need to do other than thoroughly washing and drying the car beforehand?

I dont think so. just use clearcost safe wax

You may want to use some sort of cleaner/glaze that replenishes the oils. After 60 days of nothing on them, it's bound to have taken some abuse. Try S100 Shine Enhancing Cleanser or something similar before you apply a pure carnuba wax or synthetic polish. Don't use a cleaner wax.
