I'm looking for a car with a stick for less then $1k, I know how to drive stick but I think I need to get back into it before I get an expensive toy with manual transmission.

If you know of any cars or have a car.. hit me up!

If you know how to drive stick alright why waste the money on a beater unless you want a beater. My mom drives my m3 like 3 times a year and that was the first 5spd she drove in like 15 years. Maybe see if you can borrow a friends car for a week to tool around town and get the hang of it.

Definitely. You shouldn't waste your time buying an "in-between" car if you don't really need one. It's a waste of money to buy a beater just to "perfect" your craft on since you already know how to drive a manual. Just buy what you want and it will be incentive for you to drive it right the first time. :)

Hell, I learned to drive manual on a '97 540i 6-speed! Try that on for size; don't be worried about "messing up" your new car. Just get a feel for it, nice and slow.

(Of course the 540i sucked to drive because of the Clutch Delay Valve and realized that I was doing it right - drove my car without any problems!)
