killcrap 05-27-2009, 01:06 AM hold the trunk button to activate panic. what is the last 7 of your vin number, some cars did not come with alarms in other countires.
rbanna 05-27-2009, 03:36 AM Thanx for you reply, my car VIN is LU51149 and its a gulf specs, so do i have an alarm system in my car?
and other thing, holding the trunk button will open the door and doesnt activate the panic mode!!!
killcrap 05-27-2009, 10:27 PM you do not have SA302 Alarm installed, you must have the alarm installed, it doesnt activate panic mode, because you dont have an alarm!!!
wow, your 4.4 has dual axle air suspenion, servotronic, tv function, load floor, climate comfort windshield. Who cares about the alarm, when you got all the good stuff already. you probably have all clear head lamps without amber reflectors.

you do not need an alrm system, your car has a dead lock mechanism which doesn' t allow anyone to enter or exit the car once it's locked. if you lock someone in the car from outside with your remote, they cannot get out until you unlock it. the vay you can tell if it has an alarm system, open the bonnet and on the left hand side (as you are facin the car)behind the seal that seperates the engine from the brake booster there should be a switch for the alarm....
but as killcrap mentioned you do not have one so don't worry about it
killcrap 05-31-2009, 05:32 PM you can exit the car if it is "double locked" from MY1999. you should get the alarm, if it lowers your insurance.
sancho078 06-01-2009, 10:43 AM maybe that is something fitted for USA market, I know that european/australian spec cars, you cannot open the vehicle if it's locked from outside. it prevents people from smashing your window and opening the door from the inside thus entering your car.....
also, we cannot have a factory alarm installed if the vehicle is not prepared for it. then again maybe your cars are built differently....

to exit a double locked vehicle, hit the central locking button, and then pull the door handle twice to exit.
sancho078 06-02-2009, 10:50 AM killcrap you are missing the point.
I am talking about locking the car from outside with remote or manually through a door lock. how are you supposed to hit the central locking button if you are standing outside, even if you smash the window, all your central locking in the world will not help you if the vehicle is not unlocked with the key remote and the door handle is deactivated so you cannot open it......
if you lock it from inside however it will do what you just said.....
peace
killcrap 06-02-2009, 07:26 PM You are missing the point. You stated if you lock someone in the car they will not be able to exit the vehicle. And I have entered plenty of vehicles that have been double locked from the outside without breaking any windows or damaging any trim pieces. PEACE!
Go to your car and try it. Then come back and feel salty.
HawaiiDreamer 06-03-2009, 08:55 PM they have that little DVD to show you how to do this stuff if you have it in your little book with the manuals and stuff.
sancho078 06-05-2009, 01:24 PM killcrap, I think with this we have at last established something.
our cars (USA) and (Australia) are not set in the same way, it could be different laws in different countries, on our cars (I have been working and still am for BMW over here for 11 years) we have always had "deadlocking system" on our cars, starting with E30, and they still use the same principal.
I think your laws must be different, therefore they have to get set up for USA market.........
that is the only logical answer ( I did go and check my wife's X5 e53 and it is exactly as I explained)....
so sorry if I offended you with this...
