For those following the development of the new track in Palmer, the Springfield Republican reports (http://www.masslive.com/news/index.ssf/2009/05/economy_slowing_plans_for_amat.html?category=Busin ess&category=Hampden&category=Palmer&category=Sports) that the slowing economy had slowed but not killed the track. Now the target date is 2011, pushed out from 2010 IIRC.
When I saw the article in the paper I hesitated to read it as I thought for sure it was going to be about the track being cancelled - - I consider one extra year to be very good news. Has anyone heard anything else on the track?

just did a little reading up on it...its supposed to be a 2.14 mile track with its focus on club racing, no professional racing for the time being, and will be operated by the SCCA
heres the preliminary track design:

I'll ride on the back of your Bobcat, wielding my shovel like a swore of yore. The ground will never know what hit it.
