Hey guys I'm trying to find a cheaper solution to integrate the iPhone into my X3 2005. I know I found something a while ago that was around 30$ but cannot find the website anymore. DICE looks good but I don't want to spend that much for it. Thanks much.

You can't "integrate" the iPod/iPhone without a DICE.
Basically your only options are,

-Get a FM transmitter, or
-Get an AUX port

Having both, DICE in my e46 and AUX in my X3, I'd recommend the DICE, but streaming music from Pandora on my iPhone thrugh the AUX port sounds excellent.
(Of course, you don't have control over the Ipod/iPhone, nor the screen information with this option) and the cable hanging around.

But for a "cheap"option it definetely does it's job, and very good.

I found a never installed DICE Silverline on the Bimmerfest classifieds and bought it from a member for $115 shipped, so if you are patient and start looking, just save up the extra $60 or so and get a second hand DICE.

for the ignorant what in the blaze is DICE. I should have my X3 next month and it comes with the professional sound system and certainly would like to use the iPod to enjoy the sound system and appreciate an explanation.

Sounds like a good deal for a cheaper alternative, the only thing, I didn't see if it displays the songs/playlists on the radio screen...

where/ or what can you do to install an AUX input? it would be great to have on in the center console like the newer BMW's

Many people install the Aux input in the ashtray area, still centrally located. I use the Intravee II on my X5 and love it. It is basically iPod controls on the nav screen, granted it will run you about $350.00.

I can't understand why we would complain about 150.00 for the Dice. Great item and so easy to install my dog could do it if he had fingers. I just wish it worked in my E90 as well.

Because it should come as a default install on a freakin BMW, and because ppl don't have hundreds to throw on crap that's not even guaranteed or OEM.

you guys forget, the iphone.ipod is pretty new....

I just installed the DICE in my X5, we have one in the x3 too. BE warned if you have the DSP HU. you will need a DSP module too. thats another 80. the grom WILL NOT display track info. and with the dice, when you get a call, the music stops and your ring tone comes on. with the wifey's x3, we have BT so it just starts ringing and you answer on the wheel. the nice part of the dice, you get text of couse ( either on the dash cluster or the NAVi or the regular led's) and its scrolling so you see all of the text. also you will loose your CD changer!.
