do cops bother you with front tint?

Depends where you are. Some towns don't care and some do care. And some cops don't care and some do.

I never have here in north Jersey. I know people who have been but that was by the counties. In the smaller towns they tend to leave people alone unless they develop a reputation or they tack on the tint ticket after they did something else wrong.

Inspection will hassle you. If your tint is like 5% you will get hassled by cops. If its 35% you will get hassled much less if any. Also depends on the part of jersey. A busy part probably wont bother with a tint ticket. A slow small town will. I.E. you have a better chance of getting pulled over in Bernardsville then you do in Edison. Ask me how I know.

i have 20% on my front windows, ive been hassled on in Mendham, NJ. but thats it, in my town the cops know who I am and know my car so they dont really bother....

front tint is illegal in general in jersey regardless of the percentage correct??
I want to tint but dont feel like ripping them off and repaying every 2 years bc stupid inspection!

I'd love to tint my car, I just know i will be paying more in tickets than i did for the tints :(

I think I am going to do my rear windows and trunk super dark though... only to protect the possibility of people seeing the stereo stuff back there really

alright it looks like a 50/50 chance. now I need to find this huper optik tint.

i never got bothered but my brother racked up like 3 tickets 2 weeks after getting his done. he removed the fronts after that.

I have had 35% on the fronts for a few years and never had any problems despite being pulled over a few times. I always roll down both the windows when pulled over. The tint place I used was $175 for the whole car with a lifetime warranty and they will retint the fronts for something like $65 every 2 years when I do inspection.

If you are already have a high profile car and get pulled over all the time I would imagine you are going to start getting tint tickets too though. They aren't 'supposed' to just pull you over for tint as it's not a major/primary or whatever the term is for the infraction, but they can give you a ticket for it if you are pulled over for something else.

Knock on wood but I have never received a ticket for my tint. Its 20% BTW.

I can get you passed with it.

in bergen county, all the time. i had 30 front on my first car. after 2 tickets, i took them off. on my car now, i have 50 which looks really close to oem. on a bright day, you can still see through the window while it remains functional. too dark attracts too much attention.

where did you get the car tinted??? just wondering for that whole 2 year deal thing...

The guys have been there for years and they have always done cars for local car clubs. Definitely do a great job plus the price is good too. I've never had any problems and know tons of people who went there. I've dropped my car off overnight before and the area doesn't look that great, but they have locked it up in the shop.

strauss sells 2.5 % tints. anyone even bother putting that on?
