Its not on the door jamb like all my other cars, or is the code different? sancho078 05-31-2009, 01:00 PM there is a build date sticker under the bonnet. as you are facing the car it should be either on the side of the left fender or somethimes they put it under the bonnet lid. killcrap 05-31-2009, 05:36 PM Where is it located on the X5. Its not on the door jamb like all my other cars, or is the code different? if the vin sticker is missing, i would be worried, every car ive encounted that has the sticker missing, has been in some sort of accident at the b-pillar. ddsski 05-31-2009, 07:10 PM That sticker, I believe its the one you're referring to with the tire pressures etc is there. I'll look under the hood killcrap 05-31-2009, 07:32 PM every vehicle produced for USA, is federally required to have this sticker for emissions. It shows the production data, and a scannable barcode for obd2. http://photos.ebizautos.com/6812/4100839/4100839_31.jpg This vin shows its an Alpina High Performance and the production data. http://images1.ecarlist.com/photos/1015_264231/800/29.jpg Critter7r 06-06-2009, 04:37 PM That sticker, I believe its the one you're referring to with the tire pressures etc is there. I'll look under the hood The tire pressure sticker is generic and available to any body shop. So a vehicle with a b-pillar that was replaced could easily be fitted with a tire-pressure sticker. The VIN sticker - while not unavailable - is more difficult to come by, and so I would bet a month's pay that the B-pillar has been replaced if the VIN sticker is missing (and if it hasn't obviously been removed). |
