It is the new twin-turbo DI V8, not an older engine.

Oh well, at least we still have our inline 6 motors. Wait, that was replaced as well by the S62 V8 motor :mad

I'm sorry everyone, I just don't like the direction BMW is going toward. Yes people do want more mpg and performance, but the V12 would have been perfect for the new 7 series. Besides, who looks at gas mileage when you are buying an $80,000 car?

Also, xatlas0, I didn't know you stayed in Atlanta.

The new 7 does come with a V12....or V8, just like every 7 series back to the (later) E32.

I recently sold the 645ci. in uk speck the car is 384 bhp. 407 bhp with twin turbo is not a huge gain. why not use the m6 at 505 bhp?

Yeah, the 760 is a V12. The 750 will probably be the TT V8 used in the X6. The kicker is how easy it is to boost the power out of these engines. Heck, the 335 with just a tune will do more than 400 rwhp, up from ~300 rwhp. No other mod comes even close in the $/hp department. So, a TT V8 will probably make more than the M5's V10 without breaking a sweat, once a performance tune is in place.

I am halfway in Atlanta, and halfway in Texas. The E9 is still in Alpharetta, but I am in College Station, getting my Masters in ME at Texas A&M.
