I had my first Drive of the year this evening, and it felt amazing. For those of you who aren't hip to what The Drive is, it's just heading out...no destination, no reason...and driving anywhere. Any direction. Any road. Windows up or down (down for me, please), music or no music (my exhaust and the wind through my windows is music enough to my ears), and with or without a passenger (for me, it's a solo thing...much like a good wank).

When was YOUR first Drive this year? Where was it? How long? Mine was after work this evening, on an impulse. Instead of rushing home to make dinner like I normally do, I just decided to take it easy and relax with a good Drive through the countryside around here. My ride home, which normally takes me 15 minutes, turned into an hour-long adventure back to my house through every back road possible. At one point, I drove past a huge stand of lilacs, and my car still smells like it, ie amazing.

Haha, your post makes me want to drive near the beach with the windows down, just to smell the salt water.

Creepy. My Drive this evening was all along the back roads of Newport, NH.

I took a nice drive today. It was a nice drive: following minivans going 25mph in a 35mph windy road, dodging random yet large potholes, getting stuck behind dump trucks shooting gravel and sand everywhere etc etc.

I have plans on going out with my gf tonight and showing her the epic grandeur that is The Drive.

I go on drives often. i have a great groups of twisty hilly and deserted roads to chose from in the next towns over. Bring a girl on the driving roads occasionally, They squeal and say slow down.
