The title says it all, I guess.
does anyone know what the official hours are to do the driveshaft & guibo replacement?
Seperate Issue:
I finally broke down and let the moths out of my wallet to do the valve cover gaskets. Parts include the 1-4 & 5-8 valve cover gasket and the all important valve bolt gaskets for under $61.00...not too bad at all.
Labor is 4.5 hrs to do the job and at $75.00/hr labor = $337.50 at least that is what it SHOULD be. not too bad actually as long as they are able to stop the leaks.
Generally a valve cover job is something I would choose to do in a blink of an eye but this car scares the Hell out of me...it's irrational. The other part of my justification for being lazy is...I have no time to do it.

Its 2.x hours. I just had mine replaced on the 840 a few months ago. It was under $200 @ $85/hour

Not too bad at all. I would still do it myself, though. With as much wrench turning as I have done so far...

I have done this job not too long ago. If you're familiar with mechanic stuff, then it would probably take you half a day max. if not maybe a day or 2. it is not that hard as it looks.

I done mine last week and the only bit that was a pain was getting the clips off the top of the injectors. Also gave me a chance to repaint the covers. All back together and running lovely now.

Never seen injector covers in the way of removing the Driveshaft--) Starting to think the 840's are high maintenance now.....

bmw pays 26 fru for the driveshaft on 850's, 23 fru for 840's and 1 fru for the guibo replacement on a removed driveshaft. so about 2.5 hours
