I know we always talk about replacing the fronts with these, does anyone have the actual part#?

i believe the x5 bushings are better.. most of the guys on the m5boards use the hd x5 bushings..

I don't think anybody's tried x5 bushings on e31. I do know that Phoenix Motorsport designed E31 bushings based upon the M5 bushings. They are essentially, from my understanding, improved M5 bushings. Interesting info about the X5 bushings though. I assume that they're harder or less flexible than m5 bushings?

Cheers

yup they are the same type of rubber thats used in the e39/m5 bushings, but there is just more of it in the bushing, they say it makes the ride a bit harder, but mainly i believe they were looking for improved longevity of the bushings..

let me see if i can find the thread, iirc there were a few on this topic @ the m5board.com

personally i'd go with the Phoenix Motorsport ones. After all they were designed as an improvement with the e31 in mind.

Go for an 8! There's nothing like it!

The v8 is best supercharged. The v12 prefers 2 turbos.

i believe the x5 bushings are better.. most of the guys on the m5boards use the hd x5 bushings..

The X5 bushing will not fit either the E34 M5 OR the E31. X5 bushings have an outside diameter of 66mm whereas the E31/M5 arm takes a 55mm bush. Additionally, the X5 bush is 76mm wide and the E31/M5 has a bush gap of 58mm.
So absolutely NO WAY will the X5 bushes fit the E31.

This is an E39 M5, the E31 takes E34 M5 bushes.

I have had a good exeprience with powerflex bushes as they are easy to fit and they last long. Also are priced well.

Marv, 8tech may chime in here, but iirc a client has had them on for 20k+ over rough terrain to test...... no issues, and that was months ago. If you get a good 35k out of these with no problems it's a great product. The ease of install makes it a no brainer.
