Anyone had this problem? 840CI 1996 4.4 heating system is only blowing out hot air on all settings, I have removed pollen filters as they were blocked and can hear solenoids clicking when temp dial moved. The only setting I get "cool" air is when all set to cold, switches set to Auto and recirculation left light iluminated, looking like I will be taking full advantage of the cool look of all windows down this summer :help
The heater valves sound like they are stuck open. Check them first. ( the heater vavles are POWERED close.

The water valves are located under the hood to the left of the Fuse Box, under that hard to remove rectangular black cover. Remove the cover and unplug the harness to the water valve. Apply 12v (ground to the center terminal iirc) and power in turn to the outer terminals. Should be an audible "click" from each solenoid. If not, either the plunger shaft is broken or the valve is seized. Either way, replace the water valve assembly.

this happens to a lot of 840 goers... mine happens intermittently but since it's summer and only cold blows, I don't care lol.

The heat will contiue to hit at your feat until you change the valve assembly mentioned by the other guys.
