If you've not heard, BMW announced last month they will be bringing back the flagship 760Li with BMWs first ever biturbo v12.

With the new X5 and X6 M models coming out soon and the new M5 and M6 to make their appearances next year with possible v10 biturbo setups... BMW is certainly making its way into the future of performance vehicles. Speculation aside, Don't be surprised if the next M6 is pulling 650 HP all before the new Z9 and Z10 (next purported BMW supercar) are even announced.

My favorite quote regarding BMWs announcement of the new 760Li will surely get some oohs and ahhs, "In April 2009, BMW announced plans for a 760Li, which will be BMW's new flagship model. The 760Li will be equipped with a twin-turbocharged V12 producing 544 horsepower, which will propel the car from 0 to 62 miles per hour in 4.6 seconds." Anyway, just thought I'd share.

Cheers.

Man you talk about a pain to work on... Dual VANOS valve timing? No thank you. I have a 325 with single VANOS and it's a pain. More power to someone else who can master that stuff!

It's going to be sophisticated indeed, I hear you there.

The First 7er since my E38 I actually desire to own. Albeit not for a while yet. :)

I drive the company e38 every chance I get, it's just a great car. Aura, let's pool salaries to buy one outright ;). Expect the price to be in the upper $100K!

And I wouldn't be surprised that they use the same exact engine with some minor improvements in the 8 Series 4 door coupe they are working on...Well, 20-30 years from now when I can afford it, I'll get that one...

^^^They scrapped the new 8-Series GT 4-door. Good news if you ask me.

It is called reading the instructions! The Germans try to make these things idiot resistant for their techs and it honestly is not that hard.

I personally will hate the lack of room that those cars will have because you can't reach anything without taking off multiple covers and even some other parts every now and then. Though the W12s in the A8s I see daily are worse in the elbow room department.

So the latest rumor is that the new BMW supercar will be called the Z9 or Z10. I read this in the latest issue of Roundel (the one with the M3 modded by Active, Inc that pushes over 600HP).

haha, I was just reading mine! Active is nuts. I've been trying to keep tabs on the Z9 and Z10 since it was first "put out there" over a year ago, I'm looking forward to BMW bringing another supercar to the world. All the information as of yet doesn't say much to differentiate the Z9 from the Z10 other than the way their chassis are styled. I can't wait until something official to blow our minds.
