OK, i just rebuilt the engine God help me, and i pluged all the wires in except one little wire i cant figure out where it goes part number on it is: 7507259 its only a one wire plug and its on the front if you are facing the engine on the right side of the inject harness in the front.

But my main question is: i just want to see if it will even turn over at least once with the starter i disconected the fuel line so it dont start up and i want to get it to turn over but the starter will not even click.

So what are some of the "safety" or what ever things that X5s have the prevent it from cranking.

Will any of the following possibly prevent it front crankig over:

Front jacked up.

The front wheel angle sensors not in place, hooked up but not on the control arms.

No engine oil yet, i know what you are thinking i am crazy but i just want to turn it over once or twice before i go dumping 8 quarts of sysnthetic in.

Radiator and hoses not installed, no coolant in the engine.

Belts not installed.

Anything else that maybe preventing the car from cranking???

I know there is some level thing in the siren that if the car is jacked up or something it wont start of wont crank?

This is my first "high tech" bmw i had nothing but e36 and you can crank that thing no matter whats unhooked. but this thing is very complicated and i don't know anything about them yet.

SO HELP PLEASE!

Never mind you all! My ground wire that is in the front was not connected! Where the heck does that connect to? The ac pump?

lets start with, why did you rebuild the engine? was the engine flooded? and bent a rod? if so, the starter could have been compromised.

connect all the sensors, pour oil into it, put the radiotor hoses and coolant in it. The car has multiple sensors and probably it throwing a lot of codes that its preventing the car to start.
