Hello,

My BMW 5 series has a rain detection system, which subject to the detected rain will activate the whipers..
This is really a great option, however once in a while this does not seem to work very well.
Meaning that sometimes it just doesn't work and even blocks the manual operation of them.
As this kind of thing only happens while driving in the rain mostly on the highway this is extremely dangerous as you can't see a thing..
Now the problem with this problem is that it occurs only once every six months more or less, so taking it to the garage it is impossible to say whether it is repaired or not.. most likely at the garage it will even work..
My question : Is there anyone out there that has had a similar problem... ?
Does anyone know what parts should be replaced ?
Pd: Is there somewhere a detailed repair guide in pdf available somewhere on the net.. ?
