Since I have owned my 8, I have had problems with the wipers. I finally got new ones to get a clean swipe across the windshield. Now my situation is that my wipers don't go "all the way" down when turned off. Basically, they don’t tuck into the proper area. Leaving them both exposed to my vision while I'm driving (slightly up). It is not the worst thing I have encountered so far, but it is a minor annoyance that I would love to render. Has anyone here had this problem? And know why this happens or way to fix? Thanks.

Not sure if this is the case but when you put the new blades on did you force the wipers out of said "proper area" or did you just bend them back at the hinges without moving the gears?

easy: remove the wiper arm and reposition to where it "needs" to be.

Nate, Give this a try. Pull all the fuses that are for the wipers in the front fuse box. Then put them back in again. There maybe some in the back also. Don't remember. So pull all of them at the same time. I had the same problem. The wiper arms were not parking. I did this and the situation was fixed. You will have to run your wipers for a bit after pulling the fuses and putting them back. Worth a shot. Hope all is well in the cold country. Take care and please report back regarding your findings.
Cheers,
Carter

Had this problem before, it started due to the fact that i only drive my car nice sunny days. I had simply not used the wipers for mayby 2 years.
When i started the wipers they didn't work properly, but after some wiping in different modes it was ok again.
The wipers didn't go back to former position, but is just slightly out. No action from me yet.
Their action are in sequence but about 5% of in resting position.

Dumb question--Did you use the original style BMW blade or an aftermarket?
If aftermarket check and make sure that the wiper arm isn't contacting the underside of the hood when it tries to park.

I have a similar problem but little different from everyone elses. It wipes fine but when i put the blades in "Park", the passenger one gets stuck on the hood for some odd reason. You can just push it back "IN" the hood again, but it gets annoying.

This is actually a "by design" issue. The wipers need to be in that position to be changed, as they cannot be tucked away nicely under the hood for maintenance. It is actually documented in the manual.
Just like the headlights stay up after a certain count of on and off, so do the wipers. Can't recall right now the cadence.

Thanks everybody for the help. I didn't have time to check the wipers today becasue it is raining!!! But when it gets nice outside again I will give all the tips a shot and get back when I can. I hope it fixes the problem becasue it looks corny sitting out of the designed parked spot.

I tried to manually push it into the parked spot, but it "feels" like it will break. Almost like it doesn't want to be in there...it would rather soak up some sun!

I had the OEM wipers on there first with same problem. Put aftermarket ones on there due to smeared and worn out wiping.
