Anyone know the operating range of the OEM brake pads? how about the dry and wet boiling points of the OEM brake fluid?

View Full Version : OEM Pads and fluid raffaelli 08-14-2003, 10:14 AM Anyone know the operating range of the OEM brake pads? how about the dry and wet boiling points of the OEM brake fluid? varsity 08-14-2003, 10:38 AM don't know the exact temperature range, but I can tell you that after one track day, I had cracked both the front and rear OEM brake pads in two places on each pad. the OEM fluid is a DOT4 I believe, but I may be mistaken. in other words, it would not be a terrific idea to use OEM fluid and pads for a track day. e46driver 08-14-2003, 11:41 AM I got air bubbles in my factory brake fluid after a day of track driving. The outside air temp is in the 60s. The pads and disk held up well. And, ya, not a good idea to use oem fluid for track.
