Call me a Californian but I much prefer 70ºF, sunny with a couple floaty clouds, windows down and sunroof open. The rain can go away. And no grip!

I always wondered why they held this in such a risky month for rain/showers instead of maybe June when the chance of rain is very low. This almost makes me want to stay home (along with having the flu).

This is why the organizers need to have Bimmerfest in a huge parking lot. Hit up the ball parks Qualcom, Angels Stadium, Dodger Stadium. Multiple entries to keep the cars moving to avoid last years fiasco because with that 2 lane road it looks like its gonna be a bitch to get in there....

But anyway, after seeing the show 7 times in the past I can honestly tell you that it's more about the experience of driving there with all your friends, getting fucked up and having a good time, and not about walking around and looking at what other people have. If the show is good for anything it's the free swag lol. You people also forget the plus side of rain, Wet Models ;)

Well, IMO even if it doesnt rain, wouldnt the tire marks remain on the field :dunno:. Why even have it on the POLO field if they are soo anal.

This is completely FALSE! I just got off the phone with the GM and she has NOT talked to anyone! This is what I just got from her by email -

It is confirmed that the field has drainage systems so it won't turn into mudfest 2009. It is a rain or shine event.

It isn't going to be a mud fest! This isn't any old field, it is a state of art, multi-million dollar facility. A little rain, which isn't going to come any ways isn't going to stop, or even effect the show!

You need to stop spreading rumors! This is 100% BS and I don't appreciate it. You haven't talked to the GM and they aren't canceling the show, you're either full of it or highly mis-informed.

The show is happening, it won't be muddy and as of right now Accueweather doesn't show any rain.

Don't let fear mongering and some made up rumors keep you from coming out to what is going to be the biggest and best Bimmerfest!

Well then the guy Karge that I spoke with from the main office never spoke with her. He relayed a message from her saying what I stated earlier. I'm not trying to spread rumors, I faithfully thought that I got the message from the GM herself. :rolleyes

Didn't mean to stir anything up, but I was unknowingly misinformed. The prick told me to call back today for an update on the weather. Looks like he never spoke with her. :mad

Again I'm sorry for spreading false info, Karge told me he actually did speak with her. I want this event to happen just as bad as anyone else. Since I thought the possible cancellation info was verified by the GM, I wanted to pass it on to fellow members. There were no updates by anyone else so I wanted to find out for myself. :nono

However, as far as precripitation is concerned, it will more then likely rain some tonight. Therefore, if it rains steadily for even an hour, and the weather stays overcast and wet, then the grass and soil wont dry by morning. It may not be a mud fest, but it could be wet and muddy.... :shifty

I'm sorry for saying I spoke WITH the GM, howver the person I spoke with said he had a conversation with the GM herself. He told me that if it rains hard enough they MAY have to cancel the event. Thanks for taking the time post a follow up! I was livid with the Polo fields when I saw your post as we've cleared Bimmerfest as rain or shine event with the SB Polo fields (I work directly with the GM) from the get go. Glad it was a big misunderstanding, sucks you got the wrong info but I really appreciate you posting this!

Any rain that might happened already has and the fields are bone dry. Any remaining chance of rain won't be a problem. Our equipment rental company hit an underground water pipe today while setting up our tent and water was gushing out. It ran down the field about 20' and then was gone, the drainage on the fields is amazing! They had the water off in a couple minutes and in 10 min you couldn't even tell it was wet. They had the pipe fixed up and everything back to perfect in under an hour. The guys maintaining the field are good!

I'm just getting back from the fields now wrapping up some last minute details and can't wait for everyone to show up tomorrow. This is hands down going to be the best Bimmerfest yet!
