Do I need to clean the pressure bleeder for storage after use? I just got my Motiv Pressure bleeder from Pelican Parts and used it to bleed my brakes and clutch. There is a little fluid left in the tank and hose and it seems like it would be ideal to clean all of that before putting it away for storage.

BTW... This thing worked great and I used the write-up from Pelican Parts' site with no problems. I followed the procedure in the Bentley manual for bleeding the clutch.

I thought briefly about cleaning my Motive bleeder, but then I realized that whatever I used to clean it (solvents, soap and water, etc.) would probably leave residues and contaminate the fresh brake fluid the next time I used it.

Before I use the bleeder again, I'll rinse it with a small amount of fresh fluid. Then I'll empty the bottle and bleed as usual.

I had problems with the seals after leaving it over the winter. Won't pressurize. I would think brake cleaner would do the job, as long as you didn't completly soak the seals.

I flushed mine out with brakleen and then let it dry. I have used it (and lent it to friends) for three years now with no problems
