1998 M3/4, Cosmos Black/Grey Leather, 45,770 miles, sunroof, full power, auto, M contours, no rear spoiler. Car is in immaculate condition in and out. Runs perfectly - very solid. Completely stock except for clears all around. Spent three months searching for a '97-'99 M3 in this good of condition. Search came down to this car a beautiful '97 2-door 5-spd. My practical side got the best of me as I had just had my first child (rear door for baby seat ingress/egress) and my wife would be driving the car (manual shifting is not a strong suit of hers) and this car was in too good of condition to pass up, so, I opted for the 4 door automatic.
Nearly three months later, my wife never drives the car and my son has been in it exactly twice (and not out of necessity). And although I live in a semi-urban area, my commute is completely traffic-free and I am able to lean on it pretty well. This car has exceeded all of my expectations (my first M3) except for one. I WANT TO SHIFT GEARS MANUALLY AGAIN!!! The car is fast as *$@#!!! but I desperately miss the heel-to-toe action of going through the gears.
So, I am looking to do one of two things. 1). Sell this immaculate car outright ($23,000 OBO) so I can get a stick, or 2) Trade this immaculate car for either A). a 97-99 M3 2-door 5-speed in Silver or Estoril, or B). a 2001 330ci 5-speed in either black or silver WITH SPORTS PACKAGE. Car must be really clean, have fewer than 45,000 miles and no mods. There must be someone out there who is on the other side of the fence (sick of shifting gears in heavy traffic) and is looking for what is arguably the best sports sedan ever created. Car is located in Phoenix, Az and would prefer to do trade somewhere in the southwest. Will add cash if necassary. Take a look at the following pictures and let me know if you are interested. Thanks.
