The sound is coming from somewhere in this area.. I searched the forums and came up with nothing.

Any ideas?

Just figured out that it's something to do with air conditioning unit. Since the pressure hose that goes from it the one that's moving at the rubber section of it.

The one that's circled.

Anyone? :(

It got somewhat worse today, its like a constant pumping sound now. I will take a video during lunch time. Also, where do I buy some pentosin for the PS fluid?

Is it constant or just when a/c compressor clutch is engaged?

not sure if its the same but I had that sound when the brake manifold was leaking. The sound was coming from the Pentosin resevior being low on fluid.

oh, I get Pentosin @ NAPA. It's $17.99 per can in my area

I think it is because of my pentosin too, since it is pretty low in the reservoir also.

Just happens every 3 seconds, no matter if the A/C is on or not. I think it's to do with the pentosin level since I have a small leak for the last 7 months.

The usual suspect of a slow pentosin leak will be the brake booster. Feel underneath the brake booster and see if it is leaking at the plug.

Do you have any puddles under the car? When I was leaking that green gold, it was from the brake booster, on the left side. Underneath it was covered with pentosin.

It is leaking from the steering box I think, it's right by the oil pan sort of. The leak is extremely slow... overnight probably a single drop type of deal. Is the brake booster sort of right under the ABS assembly in the front left side?

No. That is the Brake Bomb (Accumulator). The booster is that unit under where you marked your hissing sound is.

Oh ok, yeah the leak is not from there - its more from the underneath of the car. I will top up the fluid today. Do I fill it up to the metal net.. or whats the proper level of pentosin? I bought it with low level so I am not too sure.

Turn the ignition key to position 2 (do not start the car) Turn the steering lock to lock 3 times. Turn the key to off. Now pump the brake pedal until the pedal gets hard (may require between 22~25 pumps or more depending on the health of your accumulator). Then open the Pentosin canister lid and fill it to Halfway of the screen height.

This is a good time to inspect the color and the clarity of the pentosin. It should be clear emerald color.

PS. For your car, you should be using Pentosin 7.1. Do not mix 7.1 with 11S

Remember, the only way to check Pentosin is, turn the engine off and AFTER you pump the brakes 20-50 times hard! This will make sure that all the Pentosin is out of the brake bomb and back into the reservoir. At that point it should be 5-10mm below the top of the reservoir. Only then top it off to 5-10 mm if not there.

When you re-start the engine, the fluid will go done and disappear below the screen, looks like it may be low but DO NOT top off!!

If you do top off Pentosin with the engine running, at some point, the valving of the hydraulic system will allow the fluid from the bomb back into the reservoir and will over flow, makes a big mess and you think you have a problem.

P.S. Sorry Faisal, didn't see your post! same point! Don't have to turn the steering lock to lock thou-with the engine off, doesn't do anything and would be VERY difficult.

After filling up my pentosin still the same deal. Except I did some testing.. when the car is running and i press the brake pedal down all the way, the pressure from the pumping pulse under the engine bay backs the pedal up even with full force of my feet...

What could be causing this?
