If so How lol ChrisFuture8 04-09-2009, 07:03 PM I bought the wuffer #2 car and it has the custom made arm rest. Not sure if it's the same custom you're talking about but I can take a few pictures of it and e-mail you if you like. -Chris Wuffer 04-09-2009, 07:16 PM Thats my own cheap and dirty (but very functional) design. 8-) Eight Ball 04-09-2009, 07:25 PM I bought the wuffer #2 car and it has the custom made arm rest. If so How lol FAQ e31 on Wuffer.net has a write up I believe. Go to wuffer.net, then to downloadables, download faq e31 and go through the files. Hope this helps. Take care and good luck with the project. Cheers, Carter ChrisFuture8 04-09-2009, 07:28 PM Thats my own cheap and dirty (but very functional) design. 8-) Yup, I knew it was your own design, Tom, and I thought you probably wouldn't mind it if I share your design to a fellow 8er here.:D rcrad6653 04-09-2009, 07:29 PM Go with the one from an E46, as it hinges with storage underneath unlike the E36. Also get the piece that covers the hinges. There's a chap over in the UK that designed and fabricated a special bracket that makes it look very clean and from the factory. Just waiting for either the CAD file or him to make a batch as he's had great demand. ChrisFuture8 04-09-2009, 07:32 PM Pictures please. Thanks Carter and Koizumi, I will take some pix and hopefully I can post them on here now. All courtesy of Wuffer's design (quick and dirty as he put it...hehehe). Cheers, -Chris ChrisFuture8 04-09-2009, 08:59 PM and please don't criticize the resolution quality (they were taken with my camera phone). Cheers, -Chris ChrisFuture8 04-09-2009, 09:01 PM ...last two pictures of the arm rest...again, courtesy of Wuffer's design. ashrafclk 04-10-2009, 04:26 AM thats pretty cool design i like it thanks guys smokum 04-11-2009, 03:43 AM http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd109/smokumxxx/th_IMG_0543.jpg (http://s220.photobucket.com/albums/dd109/smokumxxx/?action=view¤t=IMG_0543.jpg) http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd109/smokumxxx/th_IMG_0540.jpg (http://s220.photobucket.com/albums/dd109/smokumxxx/?action=view¤t=IMG_0540.jpg) http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd109/smokumxxx/th_IMG_0524.jpg (http://s220.photobucket.com/albums/dd109/smokumxxx/?action=view¤t=IMG_0524.jpg) http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd109/smokumxxx/th_IMG_0525.jpg (http://s220.photobucket.com/albums/dd109/smokumxxx/?action=view¤t=IMG_0525.jpg) http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd109/smokumxxx/th_IMG_0527.jpg (http://s220.photobucket.com/albums/dd109/smokumxxx/?action=view¤t=IMG_0527.jpg) http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd109/smokumxxx/th_IMG_0526.jpg (http://s220.photobucket.com/albums/dd109/smokumxxx/?action=view¤t=IMG_0526.jpg) Last 1 is my fav!!! ashrafclk 04-11-2009, 03:54 AM sooooo how did u guys do that ha whale 04-11-2009, 06:14 PM Wuffer's is a more versatal option, which apparently doesn't restrict availability of the cavity that it sits in. The armrest that I installed (pic) works well, can be raised, includes an internal adjustable drink holder and lockable storage but, its cost doesn't compare to minimal expenditure of the homemade armrest, in addition to eliminating use of the cavity. 86325i 04-12-2009, 05:38 PM Has anyone seen the one on the 97 850ci featured in Bimmer mag 02/09 pg 69 it looks pretty interesting. I have had it in the formative stages for about 12 months, and am just getting to the point of fabricating it. It uses factory pieces to attach to the console. rcrad6653 04-14-2009, 10:42 AM Here's a sequence of shots of a version done by Lloyd over in the UK, hence the reversed shape (RHD). The assembly is the same regardless. Roger, I'd be really interested to see your version assembly thanks! http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq138/rcrad6653/dscf1705.jpg http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq138/rcrad6653/dscf1711.jpg http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq138/rcrad6653/dscf1713.jpg http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq138/rcrad6653/dscf1715.jpg http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq138/rcrad6653/dscf1717.jpg http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq138/rcrad6653/dscf1721.jpg Koizumi 04-14-2009, 02:18 PM I am presently working on a custom armrest - it is in the dense-foam stage stage - if anyone wishes I can post pics of the process. Hello Roger, I would very much like to see your project. Cheers, Koizumi ----------------------------------- PS. I've got an interesting armrest that came with my car. It's small & removable and looks stock (as if it belongs to the car). |
