is there such a thing...a 525i wagon powered by the ///M engine? :dunno is there a way to substantiate such a claim through VIN decoding? what to look for other than the ///M5 badges on the front grille and the trunk?
TIA

people can do a engine swap.

There is a M5 wagon... only in Europe I believe... unless someone goes through the trouble importing one here... There was a recent discussion about this if u do a search.

On the //M5 Forum, there are pics of one in Atlanta. It was a 525 touring that was transformed into an //M5 Touring.

Here is a Euro M5 Touring that has been imported into the US and nicely modified (6-speed gearbox and Quaife diff):

A US-spec M5 will have a VIN starting with "WBS". BMW never officially imported the M5 Touring (wagon) in to the US or Canada, though.

yeah, rob levinson(owner of uuc) is one the few people in the US with a e34 M5 wagon.

the transplanted 525iT in atlanta is sweet though, cant even imagine the $$$ he spent on that swap though.

here's a couple pictures of the true M5 wagon in europe, some big wig at BMW Motorsport owns it...

Actually, the UK is the only European country that is RHD. The rest of Europe is LHD, just like the US.

Japan is RHD also, but it is legal to have a LHD car there.

In the US, you occassionally see cars that are not LHD...

- mail trucks.
- Subaru Legacy wagons, imported for rural mail use but available for ordering by any regular person.
- McLaren F1 with central seating position.
- various custom motorcycle-based cars with inline seating.
