How's it going Gordon. The sway bars are installed, but the car isn't on the road.....yet. The suspension on the white car seems more brutal than the one on the black car so I have to go shopping. Anyone know if the military surplus stores sell Air Force pressure suits?

How do you know it's more brutal if it's not on the road yet?(I bet you can't push the fenders down, huh?) So, how much more work needs to be done to get the white one back on the road? Did a wheel swap on Barney and He's got grey sway bars. Who makes grey sway bars?

as having a S14 in the E30 M3. The only gray sways I know about are Suspension Techniques but I'm sure they aren't the same color as your 635 sways. Which wheels did you swap on Barney? Do you have any pics?

The rear sway bar is battleship grey. The front is black and may be stock. It has this big sticker on it that says no hooks.

As for the wheels, I swapped the 18s from the 750il with Barney's 16s. IslandS52 doesn't like it, but it cured the shimmy at 43 mph on my 750 and the 18s fit just right! John said to get new rims, but I have this penchant towards curbing rims, so that is a no brainer.

Guns are an aquired taste for sure, but they are great for blowing off stress. It can get REALLY expensive though. I used to go to the range 3 times a month but its a long drive (for me :( ) and being an avid .45 shooter who doesn't reload can get expensive. If you appreciate fine workmanship though, firearms are pretty satisfying as a hobby especially customs.

No 7.1 yet. Not willing to junk the investment I already have in my current Theater. Anna already says my basement looks like stonehenge with all the speakers down there :) Anytime you guys want to watch a movie, come on over...new HDTV is on the small side though...same one as you have thrills, IIRC.

That's not much.....it's the co$t of these hobbies that is too much.

The car is enough, but I've been thinking about that stress relief shooter. In the past, I would use a .357 and 12 gauge to relief stress. We would go to Kahana valley (trout rd) and just unload. But now there are too many people around the bush. Once I blew away a menjido (little green bird) with the .357, talk about nothing but feathers being left.....Not sure if you remember who Harvey Ragsdal was, but it was his iron that I used, since his son and I use to hang. It was a very nice blue nickle .357.
But like you said, too many frog skins..I'll stick with the sling shot for now.:(

Since you're from Molokai, you can answer this question. I spent a lot of time there and could not figure out those signs that said "Ford Caution when water touches red". What the heck does that mean as there was no red that I could see.

That sign has been up for so many years and you should know what F.O.R.D. means right.....and back in the day it was true...wel on Molokai it was. And the "Dip" that the sign is posted before the posts for the railing is white and from the bottom till about half way up was painted red...HA HA HA...so when it would storm or rain really hard that stream would get really high which would cut off that part of the island to any one who had a Ford...HA HA HA...(I owned a 4x4 lifted Toy pickup) But the Fords are better these days so they painted the posts white and just left the signs up. As a matter of fact i lived about 3/4 mile east of that sign where my house still is. Which im going to visit on the 28th till the Sept 1st for a family reunion (500 of us from around the state) so i hope i make it back soon enough to catch up with you guys on that island run on labor day.

I saw that sign in a couple of places. One was on the way to Kaunakakai and the other way on the way to Kilohana School.

yea the sign is on both sides of the dip going both ways
and i went to Kilohana Elementary
i lived about 2 miles west of that school. :buttrock

at times when there is a big storm huge boulders are washed in the dip and cuts off that part of the island...kinda like when there is an accident on the Waianae area even if you have a 4x4.

Not too many of the BMW crowd is into drag racing. One of my friends is into that, but he crashed his car in January of 2002 and hasn't got it back yet. I don't know what's taking so long, but I know he was having problems with his cf parts. His car ran 12s all day long.

However, we do have quite a few that like road racing and autoxing. THey either participate in the BMW CCH events or SCCA events.

12's? Nice. What type of bimmer did your friend have?

It's the black M3 that's been at Central for the past year and a half.

I guess it's not suprising that the M3 has been at Central for a year and a half, depending on how much damage the crash caused...

It took Central 3 attempts and 3 weeks just to properly repair some damage that BMW of Honolulu inflicted on the roof when they placed the car in a stacker.

Does the local BMW club have a website?

There is an old website, but it hasn't been updated for years. That one is a long story where the person who setup the sites and domain names for the various BMW CCA chapters kept the ownership and was unreasonable about fees for the use of the name.

But i'll tell ya i kick butt at using MS Frontpage...but thats about it.

Oh, I forgot to mention. I saw the black M3 at Central today. It looks like it still needs a lot of work....

Front bumper, hood, windshield, airbags, et. al.

I know they were trying to contact my friend abouthis car, so the parts may be in. The only thing is he still wants a cf hood and the M5 front bumper. I think there is still a sticker on his windshield for some 12 sec or 11 sec club at HRP.
