The instrument back lighting on my 97 840ci is much dimmer than I prefer and I am sure it's from age. How hard is it to relace the blub(s) that create the lighting for the instrument cluster.
Thanks

So just try putting a new swith, or just bypass/short it to see (don't know if that' safe though) 8eights 03-16-2009, 03:11 PM The instrument back lighting on my 97 840ci is much dimmer than I prefer and I am sure it's from age. ThanksThe bulbs are easy to swap, Only a screwdriver is needed and patience, Takes a hour to clean everything and replace the bulbs, Might wanna check the connections and the dimmer switch while your at it, Got my bulbs from Gault Bmw, A bag of them for $20.00US, More bulbs than i needed.
