The instrument back lighting on my 97 840ci is much dimmer than I prefer and I am sure it's from age. How hard is it to relace the blub(s) that create the lighting for the instrument cluster.

Maybe the switch chaged it's resistance over time.... replacing all bulbs could be hard, maybe they are dusty, but i doubt that would have such an effect... So just try putting a new swith, or just bypass/short it to see (don't know if that' safe though)

ThanksThe bulbs are easy to swap, Only a screwdriver is needed and patience, Takes a hour to clean everything and replace the bulbs, Might wanna check the connections and the dimmer switch while your at it, Got my bulbs from Gault Bmw, A bag of them for $20.00US, More bulbs than i needed.

Not to expose my ignorance but where do I start with the screwdriver. Undeer the dash, prior loose the dash trim? Appreicate your help
