Note it is not a direct swap for early cars.

Nope, but this one is....Just swap slip ring and install. Very hard to find the correct one tho as the E36 wheel with the airbag light will not fit.

Yup, had them in both my cars for 3 or 4 years. Have only ever found 4 of them in years of searching. Just installed the latest one in a local car. Shown here in my former #2 car with Euro CSi guages.

I am confused. I was the impression that any earlier steering wheel with a single stage airbag and a matching slip ring would work.

Frankie is the expert here but the wheels I have only required swapping the slip ring from the old wheel to the new one. No other mods necessary, very straightforward.
I have none available at the moment as when I get one it goes very fast to a local owner usually. Sorry.

The wheel you posted will work on your car.

I bought my wheel off eBay from a German vendor. He always has wheels for sale. I was very pleased with the quality. Mine has perforated leather on the sides and solid leather top/bottom. Finish is fabulous - wheel looks like new. He provided mine with the AC Schnitzer badge and M-colored stitching.

Not cheap, but one of the best upgrades yet. The wheel came with a new slipring. The only thing I had to do was swap my orange air bag connector off the old wheel. The whole swap took about 45 minutes.
