I haven't checked the quality, that's why I put feeler ;) but it

I'd be interested depending on quality and fitment also. I wonder how hard the install is going to be since my stock mounting points are torn.

It's supposed to be a really good quality piece. If you can get it for under a $100, count me in.

None really, until your stock unit gets ripped off or just falls off over time. Once that happens, it makes sense to replace it with something that will last longer and be more durable (such as this or the JTD panel).

I suppose some replace them as preventive maintenance just.

How much does the stock cost, if anyone can recall? I replaced it last year but lost it after few months. I'm driving without it now but think it's OK.
Also, I think I lost one side's mouting point. Is it a problem with JTD style if I missed one side's mounting point?

Folks, I'm a dealer for JT-Designs. I don't mean to steal the group purchase, but it looks like a lot of people would be interested in only the JT-Designs unit. :dunno

That said, I MIGHT be able to do around the $139 + $10 or so shipping area if we can get 10 participants. Would you guys be interested in that? If not, I'll go on my merry way. If yes, I'll see if we can do it. Just let me know.

Also, v.b., since the people know and trust you, I'd be more than happy to let you run the GB and maybe give you a special deal for doing so. ;)

I'm in either way!!:D

Micah is a great guy and I have done a ton of busy with him (with no complaints just compliments!!!:buttrock ).

Either way guys let's make a decision and get this thing going :redspot

Micah D. Cranman
08-05-2003, 06:28 PM
Hmmm, looks like there's a lot of interest for the JT-D. Let's give it another day or so to see where people stand and what v.b. comes up with, and then we'll make some decisions. :)

If the quality of the knockoff is nice I'm interested in it... if not I'm also interested on the real JTD...:)

 holy shit...it's just a feeler thread..and competition has already jumped in??

I talked to the guy for few minutes today...seem like it's not 1 or
2 weeks can ship to everyone's door steps...he assumed we
have 20 ppl..he will call back tmmr

 knock off? if quality is better than JTD one...
and the price is $69 off retail...I don't think we should call that.

Micah D. Cranman
08-06-2003, 09:50 AM
V.b., like I said, I'm NOT trying to steal your group purchase. That's precisely why I haven't posted a new thread for JT-D underpanels. :) I wanted to wait and see how yours panned out before doing anything that might hurt your potential group buy.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE understand that, yes, while I wouldn't mind making a bit of money, this is more in an effort to satisfy a demand than anything else. If you can do it and it's what the people want, I've got no interest in interfering. :D

Kenshiro
08-06-2003, 12:04 PM
'Knock off' is anything other than the genuine article.

That being said, Micah, if you can do that price, I'm in. Not interested in the knock-off.

KaOTiKM3
08-06-2003, 12:31 PM
what do you gain by doing this mod exactly? keeping it clean underneath the car?

Micah D. Cranman
08-06-2003, 12:40 PM
Let's wait for v.b. to get final details, pricing, ship dates, and possibly pictures for his group purchase tomorrow. Then we can see what will be appropriate. Again, I don't want to rain on anyone's parade.

ArcticFox
08-06-2003, 04:11 PM
I would be interested in either. I know what the JTD looks like and the quality. I do NOT know what the "v.b." looks like or its quality, so I am undecided.

Let's see some pics of the v.b. one so I can decide. Either way, i need one. Tim

How soon can you post pics of the non-JTD panel?

NiTE
08-06-2003, 05:41 PM
I'm in if it's under $100 and depending on quality. Is the JTD one all 1 piece?

I might be interested in the JTD group buy if this falls through since I was planning on getting a JTD soon anyway.

Micah D. Cranman
08-06-2003, 05:53 PM
JT-D is made of three pieces that all bolt together to form a solid underpanel. VERY well made. I've got one I need to put on my car as soon as I replace the cooling system. (Why oh why did you have to spring a coolant leak? I was just about to treat you to a new set of tires! :bawl)

v.b. -- PICS and INFO man....Now that Ihave decided that I need an underpanel, I want one NOW! LOL.

Pass on some pics and info of the knock-off one, how it mounts, etc. I want something that is solid, but not a heavy ass piece of diamond plate either....TIA, Tim

 just got off the phone with the guy in that company...

it is a fabricate product, which mean they manufacture like 50 sets
when I want them, no single order...as I know...the piece will be
laser cut, so I guess it is not cheap quality...but will not be
anodized (probably silver in colour)

I haven't received the exact price quote..since they have trouble
with the screws ordering from the other company...

but hey....price is cheaper than I thought....:devillook
it maybe down to 85-90usd per pc....:D but well, everything is
NOT confirmed ...so be patient

I might be interested, but I'd like to see one first. Does it work on a non-M bumper?

JTD underpanel works with both M3 bumper and non-M3 bumper.
