View Full Version : GB on - NGK Spark Plugs - *Now Closed*
Hey Guys,
I was looking for deals on spark plugs today and found this site called Summerland Auto Sports. I called them up and we started talking. Sam told me that a group buy discount is definitely possible and here are the prices that he gave for the NGK BKR6EQUP platinum plugs which will work on an E36 M3.
Regular price $7.68 (ea)
You'll need six so:
60 plugs or ten (10) people = $7.00 per plug
120 plugs or twenty (20) people = $6.22 per plug
Lets start a list of people interested. All orders will need to go through Summerland Auto Sports. I have no affiliation with Summerland Auto Sports, just looking for a good source for all of us to get plugs at a good price.
Shipping was quoted @ $5.60 for six plugs to anywhere in the US.

umnitza 08-03-2003, 02:09 AM Roman, there's no point.
Go to Double02Salvage - they're $6 each.
Andrew_KC 08-05-2003, 06:16 PM BG M3, I am interested
BTW Matt,
I called double 02 and they have em for 9.99 :dunno: u wanna set up a GB with em??
Hmmm, $6.00 is definitely a good price. I searched the web and this place was a good deal to start with and Sam offered an even better price in quantity. I need to get plugs either way but if I can save a few bucks then it's that much better.
Andrew_KC 08-05-2003, 06:56 PM i am confused. BGM3, which place are you talking about.
If its double02salvage, am I missing something, I called and they said 6 bucks was way below costs. felt like i wasted his time and mine.
Anyways, is this GB still on? any details? anybody else in?
AngelEye328i 08-05-2003, 07:15 PM I am in .. let me know..

Andrew,
I was talking about double02salvage and as Matt said they sell these plugs for $6.00 a piece. If that is the case then Summerland Auto Sports is a bit higher. $6.22 is also a good price considering they are sold on the web for $9+ ...
If double02salvage is not giving the deal anymore, then we get a list of people who want to order and have everyone call in at around the same time and mention this group buy. I forward this thread to Sam from Summerland Auto Sports and I'm sure he will be following.
Andrew_KC 08-05-2003, 11:43 PM i am in
c'mon doesn't anybody else wanna save $4.08?
nydog 08-06-2003, 01:07 AM i'm in
BMW318iS 08-06-2003, 01:50 AM will this work on my 1998 328i?
///M LIFEŠ 08-06-2003, 04:55 AM Damn i just ordered my set :az:
ArcticFox 08-07-2003, 11:42 AM I thought the Bosch SGR8KQE was the "stock" plug? What up with the NGK? Am I lost?
Tim - A lot of people have been really happy with the NGK BKR6EQUP plug. It is a four prong plug like the Bosch platinum 4. I tried the Bosch plug for a couple of hundred miles and I was not impressed. Some people are happy with it but I got a rough idle so I went with the NGK 2 prong plug (don't remember the name). That was 30k miles ago and it's been running strong ever since.
Lets get this show on the road:
Who wants a set of plugs????
When we have at least ten people together, everyone will call in and place his/her order with Summerland Auto Sports.
P.s This is not limited to the E36 M3. Just call up Sam at Summerland Auto Sports with your specifications and he will get the plugs right for your engine. This is a group buy for the NGK platinum, four prong plug. I think if we get 10+ orders, he'll give a discount on the Iridium plugs, if that's what you want.
Andrew_KC 08-07-2003, 03:02 PM c'mon guys stock up on your spark plugs ;)
what do we have like 3-4 people who are in as of now?
moonluv810 08-07-2003, 11:35 PM If we can get this going and I can get the plugs within the next 2 weeks, I'm in. Please let me know.
umnitza 08-08-2003, 02:56 PM If we get enough, I'll swing by Double02 and get them to come down in price:)

Umnitza,
Can you help us out? :)
Thanks...
Hey Guys,
I purchased 6 plugs already so the other 9 buyers should call and order theirs. Just let Sam know that your purchase is through the group buy on Bimmerforums and that he should give you the group buy price for 10 buyers which is $7.00 a plug. The link to his website is in my first post.
I'm not sure if I'm selling the car yet! It such a great car that I really am having a hard time parting with it :bawl
Boz.es.du 08-12-2003, 05:06 PM Roman,
Don't sell it man! You will regret, I'm telling you. I was gonna sell my car, had it in the autotrader and all. Then one day I was washing my car and I came to a revelation. If I sold her, I'd be upset for a LONG LONG time...so I kept her.
What's going on with this group buy guys? I would take care of it but I don't have time with work projects and such...anybody willing to take over?
AvusMPower 08-13-2003, 04:46 PM I'd sure like to get a set. What was that you said about getting them for cheap just by mentioning the group buy? oh yeah, add AvusMPower to the list if its still gonna happen.

I think I'll take your advice, Boz :) I love my M, THANKS!
Ok, I just spoke with Sam from Summerland Auto Sports. This is the deal.
The price at the moment is $6.80 per plug!
To place your order:
Call or fax your payment information to:
Tel: (866) 592-9999 Fax: (888) 645-9995
Mention:Bimmerforums Group Buy to get your discount.
Do not place your order through Summerland Auto Sports website. Sam said that the company that processes his online orders charges him more.
I got my plugs in 2 days so this guy is pretty good about getting orders out on time.
Boz.es.du 08-13-2003, 10:38 PM Roman,
When we call, do we just tell them how we're going to pay and that we're from the BF Group Buy? Then what? Thanks man...
Just ask for Sam. Tell him you're from Bimmerforums Group Buy on the NGK BKR6EQUP and the $6.80 price. I think shipping is $5.40 to anywhere in the US.
This isn't limited to the NGK BKR6EQUP. Anyone can buy these Laser Platinum NGK plugs. Just give the guy the car model and he will look up the part # for your 318,325,328, 5 series, 7 series, whatever...
Boz - What's your name?

CarbonBlkE36 08-15-2003, 04:48 PM you guys are pathetic, tryin to save 10-20 cents, jus buy it, damn u guys are cheap
Not 10-20 cents. Best deal I found was $7.5x plus $8.xx shipping. That's about $7 savings or 1 free plug or 3.5 gallons of supreme. I'll go burn my 3.5 gallons through some twisties :D
CarbonBlkE36 08-16-2003, 04:49 PM for some their time is worth more than saving a buck or 3
thank you for expressing your thoughts and putting everyone in this group buy down because they want to save a few dollars.
Balthazarr 08-17-2003, 12:24 AM I 2nd that BG.
I guess this pissant has $$ to burn.

AvusMPower 08-17-2003, 10:47 PM Is there a deadline as to when we have to put in our orders or does this group buy have no end?
