Hey guys, question...

I may pick up this M3 steering wheel. Question is, is a '98 M3 stage I airbag like my '91 525? This guy is saying that it is, but I am hearing different from other sources. I don't want to buy something I don't need. John at Bekkers said that he used his original airbag, but he has a '94 540...I dunno if that makes a difference or not.

I have a late build '91 (11/90) and the E36 wheel bolted right on, using my '91 airbag. The only differnce IIRC is that I had to splice the '91 horn connector onto the newer wheel. 2 wires, no biggie. The airbag from the E36's is shaped differently on the surface, but the E34 airbag still looks completely factory. Of course, I haven't "tested" mine to see if it works, but on the whole, 50mph head on collisions aren't my bag =o)
