It depends, did you buy your car new? What year is it?

Scheduled maintenance like scheduled oil changes are free (when the computer shows a yellow light at least). You should ask yourself when you get there what this includes. They can clarify the what's included and whats not.

remember only if its a scheduled maintenance is free.

I believe its either 15K? miles or 1 calendar yr from purchase..... so double check that....its cost an arm and a leg if its not covered.

Everything that needs to be done is free except gas, tires, and damage. If you decide you want something done, you might have to pay for it. However if you don't put many miles on the car they will allow you one oil change per year even if you're not up to the mileage limit.

Is this still the case with the '06 and beyond models?

Yes it's free, but routine maitenance is all about when your car tells you to bring it in. There is no "mileage" thing. The car knows, and will tell you. If you personally feel you need something serviced more than that, you will be paying for it out of pocket.

BTW: once you're in the extended part (after 4yrs or 50k) you pay a flat $50 when you take it in for warranty work (repairs), but I don't think you have to pay that when it's in for routine maitenance (like oil changes and brake pads).

Thanks... I'll definitely have to ask him about that.

come to think of it, the zero maintenance comes standard only on the first 50k miles. You've got to pay extra to have it from 50k-100k miles. So not everyone has it. So before you ask about the deduct, you may want to see if you even have it after the first 50k.

Alright, I'll check into that. It's a certified pre-owned if that matters...

no. It doesn't really matter. CPO gets you the warranty to 100k, but the zero maint is a whole other deal. I can't remember if you can add it on later or not. Check on that. I know somethings you have to buy at the same time the car is sold as a CPO, and other things they'll sell you at any time.

On my car, I think it cost around $2500 to extend it. To me that meant I paid in advance for a brake job (which would be needed at least once between 50k-100k) and then I get everything else it needs for free. So I thought it was well worth it.

Bought mine as a CPO, free maintenance is not included in the program. A few months ago they notified me that free roadside assistance is now part of the CPO deal.
