Oh, and there's no «i» after the 2.8. Z3s don't need additional letters... :12: Ridgeway 07-30-2003, 11:03 PM Originally posted by Hugo Z3s rule, man. Oh, and there's no «i» after the 2.8. Z3s don't need additional letters... :12: o - thanks for clarifying that...I guess I just assumed it did b/c it doesn't say 2.8 on the car @ all, and the Z4 has an "i"... Hugo 07-30-2003, 11:15 PM You're right, 97s don't have any badging except the «Z3» badge. The perfect sleeper... :evil2 Dr_Bake 07-31-2003, 12:48 AM Let me get this straight: There are Z3 1.9, 2.3, 2.5, 2.8, and 3.0 right? "If" the Z's with the 1.9L engine(M44) have badging though they would probally be badged 1.8 I would think, similar to the '96+ 318i's(at least I presume, though perhaps none are badged). And of course the 2.3 is actually a 2.5L just as in the 323i... The 2.3 and 2.8 being the older ones and the 2.5 and 3.0 being the newer ones. Ridgeway 07-31-2003, 02:02 AM Originally posted by Dr_Bake Yes, I know that. The «2.3» 2.5 and «2.5» 2.5 are not the same engine. Ridgeway 07-31-2003, 09:04 AM Originally posted by Hugo But the 1.9 really is a 1.9 liter, displacement was slightly increased. Hugo 07-31-2003, 09:08 AM Nope. 2.3 has like 175 hp and 184 lbs of torque, and the 2.5 is the opposite : 184 hp, 175 lbs of torque. So off the line, the 2.3 is actually quicker. Ridgeway 07-31-2003, 11:47 AM I knew the #'s were different, I just thought that the engines were the same, with each just being tuned different...interesting... slickav 07-31-2003, 04:27 PM I think I should write this down :az:................... ATC2B 07-31-2003, 06:50 PM I love it when people know their shit.. iI don't mind being schooled at all by true enthusiasts. I'm the same way when it comes down to the E36 chassis cars. They call me the "knowitall" Maybe this is how we get the arrogant title. I mean there's been a couple times when people call my car purple, i'm like it's NOT purple, it's Daytona Violet lol.. Or when they are like nice beamer, what's it got, a V6? I respond NO, first off it's a bimmer and BMW has never mass produced a V6 engine. You know stuff like that. :dunno Anyways.. be safe guys Hugo 07-31-2003, 11:35 PM Amen, bro! :buttrock |
