I'm thinking about doing a group buy on UUC brake kits. I'd like to get at least 5 kits (but I can get favorable pricing on less than that, too).

So! let me know if you're interested. Email me at kit@mpactmotorsports.com

We can't reveal pricing unless you're interested and you email me. Retail is $1625 for the 13.1" 4 piston fixed caliper E36 M3 kit, intro pricing is $1525.

We can also get you a discount on race pads, but they will include a set of pads, as well as lines, rotors, calipers, hardware, etc.

So! If you are interested, drop me an email.

wow did they raise the pricing? I could've sworn it was $1500 for the 14" BBK

not at all.. a $1500 for a 14" BBK is not a realistic retail price at all. For a 13" kit it is..

ok, i went to the website and skimmed through it quickly

but what about clearance, do you need spacers with these things for stock wheels ?

also, what about comparing brands, this SSBCS compared to a Brembo...I don't see SSBCS or whatever in F1 !!!

who do they make brakes for, Nascar ?

You should go to this website and read through it carefully:

Again, please visit the link above for a caliper clearance diagram you can compare to any wheels.

Virtually all BBKs require spacers with stock wheels. Stock wheels tend to be very tight for fitment, which is why all fixed-caliper BBKs require spacers anywhere from 12mm-20mm depending on exactly which OE wheel you have.

Aftermarket wheels tend to have more clearance, and some do not require spacers at all - specifically, SSR Competitons, most BBS, and others. Still, some may require a 5mm-15mm spacer. It all depends on exactly what wheel you have.

Depends on which Brembo you're talking about. Brembo makes a wide variety of product, from little tiny calipers all the way up to the big stuff on Porsches. The basic Brembo "GT" aftermarket kits are a step above stock, but not a very big step. In terms of construction quality, caliper stiffness, and rotor size, our basic 330mm kit is a good step ahead of those, and is in fact comparable to the better Brembo components used by Movit.

Comparing the UUC 355mm kit to the similar-sized Brembo is more accurate. These two setups are indeed very similar, although the SSBC-manufactured components still use some better assembly hardware. I refer you to this specific page on our website for a lot more detail:

I don't see Brembos in F1, either. The BMW.Williams F1 cars use AP calipers with Carbon Industrie rotors... but these are full-on professional racing components that have nothing to do with a street car or BMW street car-based track car, or even any SCCA IT-classed race car.

As a user of the kit, I'll chime in here. The front/rear UUC UBBK is by far the best big brake set-up for the money. I run the 13" kit on my M3 and have been really, really happy:

- I've been on the same set of rotors and pads (R4 race) for months with many track days and lots of street miles. No warping, no fading, no problems.

- The brakes held up to an abusive 107-degree day at Thunderhill last week without failure. And that was _after_ my fender liners ripped and I had to run sans-ducting.

- The kit is really well-balanced. Under full braking at over 100mph the tail does not dance _at all_. This can not be said about many other kits out there. Why does this matter? Try trail braking (or even braking in a corner) with a car that's over-biased to the front or likes to lock the rears.

- Wheel clearance isn't a huge problem. Stock wheels only needed a 5mm spacer in my case, the SSRs and BBS wheels cleared without any issue, and even my cheap-a$$ Kahns that I use for autocross Hoosiers clear.

The set-up is great, and the polished calipers shine nicely through my 18" BBS RCs. ;)
