Well it was me vs. the torque monster..... and, as I am fairly up-to-date on the stats of these machines, I figured I stood a chance up to 70 or so.... and I was right.

We had a go at it 3 times, from stop lights...and all three times were the same. Each consisited of jaunts to 70-80 mph between lights. And each time, I would pull 1-1 1/2 cars on him off the line, pull away until about 60 mph, then my pull would stop, and then he would begin pulling on me.....then we had to shut it down at the next light. The fun part was that he did not have enough room to make up the delta between us.........

The only time I could put more distance on him was through some aggressive turns (his rear end slid out one time....pretty scary, not a "controlled slide")....

It was painfully obvious that above 70, I would be passed as if I had let off the gas completely. By the way, he was a real ass and would not look over each time... Ok looking car w/ a big V8, but mine was "quicker" and cost half as much.............Gotta love those overpriced Toyotas! (j/k to all you Lexus owners out there!)

Here are his specs:
Performance
Acceleration (0-60 mph): 6.7 sec. Braking Distance: 121 ft.
Base Number of Cylinders: 8 Base Engine Size: 4.3 liters
Base Engine Type: V8 Horsepower: 300 hp
Max Horsepower: 5600 rpm Torque: 325 ft-lbs.
Max Torque: 3400 rpm Drive Type: RWD
Turning Circle: 35.4 ft.

Here is what mine is STOCK:
Performance
Acceleration (0-60 mph): 6.4 sec. Braking Distance: 116 ft.
Road Holding Index: .94 g Base Number of Cylinders: 6
Base Engine Size: 2.8 liters Base Engine Type: Inline 6
Horsepower: 193 hp Max Horsepower: 5500 rpm
Torque: 206 ft-lbs. Max Torque: 3500 rpm
Drive Type: RWD Turning Circle: 34.1 ft.

Assuming my mods...is this outcome about right? That car has a ton 'o torque!

I'm sure the turning circle stat had a tremendous effect... Just teasin ya! Nice run. Great launch on your part, those torque monsters can get off the line quick, but this one is pretty heavy.

yeah, I had the def advantage in turning radius... we both locked our wheels to the left to see who could turn 360 degrees the fastest. I smoked him.:laugh

Good kill. The Sc is like a rolling boulder. It takes some effort to move it, but once it gets rolling, its fast.

Are you being sarcastic? I know it's subjective, but I hate those OEM wheels on the SC430, that would be the first thing I'd change on that car... that and the automatic... :D

4.3 is big??? I was thinking more on the lines of 454 or 502 :).
I hate dicks like that too. Im usually pretty cool after a race unless its some tailgating ricer n00b.

Ah yeah, I've driven a lot of SC430's....heavy and slow is the only words to describe them. Now the GS 430's.....wow! Those things are f'n fast! Race one of those and see them hand you your a$$ on a silver platter! LOL

Funny you say that... I ran against an '02 GS430 awhile back...and while it was closer than the SC430, I still beat it to 65-70 by a car length or so....

Edmunds has the GS's time to 60 at 6.3... and me stock at 6.4....

With my G-Tech, the best I have pulled is a 5.9 to 60... (consistantly pulling 6.0's and 6.1's)........

So, hand me my a$$....? Not quite... but like I said, above 70, its a mess........

The 99 GS400 were actually a little quicker according to edmunds...reaching 60 in 5.9... Have yet to encounter one of those...probably a perfect match for my little 328:buttrock

Edit: I have never raced, nor do I have the specs on the '03....
