View Full Version : Who's the fastest BF member?
///Manuel 07-29-2003, 03:43 AM All of what's going on on this forum is just talk :devillook What really matters is who is the fastest driver out here...
Anybody up for a meeting somewhere driving identical cars and going for it :D ? How could we go about doing that.
I would love to teach you guys a lesson ;) !
///M LIFEŠ 07-29-2003, 04:57 AM Rumors are that the Silver streak guy is pretty quick.
black_box 07-29-2003, 09:15 AM straight-line, autocross, or track?
SilverStreak 07-29-2003, 10:27 AM Yeah, please clarify, who's the fastest guy in terms of top speed, around a road course, down the 1320, etc...???
Now, if you're talking 2 identical cars at the Strip, you find me a donor vehicle with an owner not in love with his clutch, I'll gladly take a shot at it... :evil2
///Manuel 07-29-2003, 11:59 AM Well, I guess it would have to be at all level. No need to be picky :) So all we need is a nice strip and a race track (we can set some cones on the race track for Jim ;))

Loudest bark = Weakest Bite. :stickoutt ;)
///Manuel 07-29-2003, 02:22 PM When do we meet? :D
Tommy R 07-29-2003, 03:14 PM Fastest car or fastest driver? A wee bit of difference there. Or are you talking about a combo? :95
Tommy

Tommy R 07-29-2003, 03:30 PM My bad..... :stickoutt
Tommy
SilverStreak 07-29-2003, 04:55 PM In the straight line, I like my chances, provided I'm allowed to launch the way I like to launch... 17 yrs drag racing experience should come in handy.... :D

haha :biglaughb
///Manuel 07-29-2003, 08:34 PM Dave, you will certainly score some points at the strip. Maybe we should have BF regionals first to find out who's the fastest and then only the best of the best gets to meet in Vegas for the ultimate nationals :)
DDIZZY 07-30-2003, 12:14 AM Show up at Sears Point or Thunder Hill anytime. If my M3 can't hang, then I will have to warm up Ethell.

Hey Dale, any specific dates you're thinking of doing at either of those tracks? Would love to try to keep up with you. I'll be at T-Hill on 8/8 and 8/19, FYI.
Thanks again for the great GC suspension you sold me, not to mention the outstanding customer service.
- Bill
P.S. - I'm obviously not hip enough to get the "warm up Ethell" reference. Enlighten please?
SilverStreak 07-30-2003, 09:15 AM Manuel, we could just compare 60' times, power to weight ratios and timeslips, and save me the plane ticket... :evil2
It would be cool to someday have a bf.c autox or track day. that would rock.

Who is Ethell? :95

Ah ha, I see somebody is on the same page as me :D
Dave, are you saying that you might choke so you wanna compare numbers ;) ? We'll know what pressure can do to people... a stall ooooh just joking :)
I hope I can hit the track on Friday, I'll try to get some people to time me just for reference.
SilverStreak 07-31-2003, 07:01 AM I haven't botched a launch (in my mind, "botched" = a 60' time of more than 2.0) since 1999... ;)
DDIZZY 07-31-2003, 12:13 PM Ethell is a Ex SCCA Trans Am Mustang that Pops lets me drive once in a while. Full Tube frame, 650hp, Hewland 6 speed, etc
Really hard to hold on to. Bill, no problem glad to help and I'm glad you like the suspension. Maybe at Sears in Nov. I bought an ITS E36 BMW recently, so I will be working on that. So not much track time for me
Low Level 07-31-2003, 04:21 PM I'd be willing to bet that Bryan is our fastest BF track driver, everything else being equal.
ArcticFox 07-31-2003, 04:23 PM Well, I will be at Thill on 8/19 too, but I doubt I am as fast as Bill...we shall see.

Nah, I'm just the one who talks the most. :biglaughb
There are some guys lurking on this list who would probably kick my arse all over the place. Whatever happened to Brian Lieb? He probably sees more seat time in a week than I see in 6 months. Then there's James Clay who has recently proven what he can do in his E36 in World Challenge. A few other SVWC drivers have been known to read/post on here, as well as some very accomplished club racers and auto-xers.
Now, if we are talking about driving in the rain, all bets are off. I'd feel good about my chances, simply because I think I'm a little crazier than the average sane racer...:evil2

My vote is for Stub!
If he drives half as good as his "talk"...:devillook
I'm just f-ing with ya Stub!:biglaughb
///Manuel 07-31-2003, 10:12 PM Well Dave will smoke us, Bryan will lap us and Jim O. well, put us to shame... so how about racing wheelbarrows anybody?
Pinecone 08-01-2003, 07:02 PM You have to do it in equal vehicles. So that means one of the schools or akrt place.
Ocala Grand Prix is about an hour from Orlando (so can combine it with a Mouse trip for the rest of the family).
Nice course that they can configure from a very tight twisty cource, to a fairly wide open course.
You would have to have some base driver wieght and ballast the lighter guys since the driver weight really effects the karts. You don't want to findout who is lightest, but who is faster.

Dave,
Baby will be available soon if you need a car.
SilverStreak 08-04-2003, 09:34 AM I can't wait Kenny! :buttrock
Simeon, what's the ETA on Baby?
Bimmerhead 08-04-2003, 09:44 AM The "word" is late this week.
If so this weekend I'm visiting "Zainoville" and next week....
NO PRISONERS
There are a few guys that regularly drive PA-309 in need of schooling. I do have to keep it under 5k for a few weeks though :(
Sharkbite2000 08-04-2003, 09:51 AM Lets do ENGLISH Town !!! Talk is Cheap !
And silver streak i got a WRX for your ASS :) so lets make a date :)
SilverStreak 08-04-2003, 09:54 AM Simeon, when do you estimate she'll be fully broken in and ready to rock?
Sharkbite, talk is very cheap, speaking of which, you owe me some timeslips... ;)
Bimmerhead 08-04-2003, 10:10 AM One month or so, unless I do a road trip.
Tony wants 1000 miles on her clock before I do anything NUTZ.
SilverStreak 08-04-2003, 10:43 AM Awesome! :alright
///Manuel 08-04-2003, 06:17 PM I'll be out to Second Creek this week, if anybody wants a shot, it's now! :)
G.J. Dixon 08-04-2003, 07:56 PM I don't know who the fastest Forums member is, but if you check this out, Its possible that I could be a good competitor for the top spot! :D

how about a contest for the craziest racer out there, now that would be fun. I've got dibs on M. Richmond.. :buttrock
Would you take A Taylor or P Collet?

Two different kinds of insane there...one spends as much $$ as possible, one spends as little. Pierre onle really seems crazy inside a race car, Al is certainly crazy at all times. :)
Spencer 08-07-2003, 06:06 PM ///Manuel,
I believe I passed you at the karting facilities multiple times...... :biglaughb :biglaughb :biglaughb :biglaughb
We'll have to get back out to 2nd creek when I get back. Finally got my blown struts replaced.
Maybe you would like a rematch at the karting place? Loser pays for both?
///Manuel 08-08-2003, 02:19 AM Oh oh, man, it's on!!!!!! :D I just got done spending 4 hours at 2nd Creek and let me know that new pavement is a handful! Feels more like rallying... Anyway, it adds on the fun.
As far as karting, well we definitely need to drive the same one with the same weight!
As far as I know, who was regularly 1 second or 2 behind me at autox's? ;)
Steve J. 08-08-2003, 09:53 AM I vote for Segal...Won several BMWcca events, as well as Ferrari Challenge races and hes 17! Props to a young and aspiring great driver :)
