I want to mount a set of 235/40/17s on the back of my stock DS2's.

From the factory, those rims come with 245/40/17 so I dont think 235's should be too difficult on 8.5" wide rims. Unfortunately, the two tire places I tried couldnt do it. I dont really consider putting 235s on a 8.5' rim stretching the tire. One place claimed it is too hard because the tires are low profile and the quality of the tire is hard rubber (as opposed to soft--yeah, i dont know). They are Michelin Pilot Sports.

But considering the last two places failed, does anyone reccomend a place that can properly mount these tires onto my rims?

Thanks in advance

Parts and Polish on Northern Blvd in Great Neck definitely can. I believe they mounted something like a 215 on a 10.5" just for fun, they mount a ton of tires for the VW guys who like to stretch some serious rubber.
