View Full Version : 95 M3 vs 2002 G35 Coupe- typical results?
95TigerM3 07-28-2003, 12:23 AM We raced from a10mph role in 1st all the way through 3rd gear. From the get go, I had a 1/2-1 car advantage as soon as we hit it:clap: . After that there was no gain or loss, but by the end of third it looked like he was gaining just a tad although not enough to get more than a 1/8 to 1/2 car gain back from being one car behind. My car is all stock with 74k miles, a K&N panel filter with EuroSnorkel on airbox. IS this what you guys have seen??? I thought he was going to smoke me :dunno
Dr_Bake 07-28-2003, 12:25 AM Sounds about right to me...I'd think they'd be about even and even you might pull away at higher speeds. :dunno
slickav 07-28-2003, 12:30 AM Yeah its about the typical result ;)
luckee2bhere 07-28-2003, 12:34 AM sounds bout right. his 0-60 is low 6s. yours mid 5s....
They really aren't THAT quick. They are fucking sweet looking though if you ask me. Hate to say it, but this Jap car shows up an E36 M3 just from looks IMO. Saw one on 20s the other day...heart skipped a beat. Looked good as hell.

I can vouch for the look of the G35 coupe on sporty 19" wheels .. freakin hot..
but the e36 m3 has that classic design that demands respect even after it's 9 years of kicking ass, and remains the benchmark of all other performance coupes that have come out after it.
I sit here thinking about other 9 year old cars that catch my eye stock like the e36 m3.. can't think of many others
:dunno
manny 07-28-2003, 10:56 AM Nice.....Good work.
RogRacer 07-28-2003, 11:09 AM Try sitting in the back of a G35 Coupe....it's ridiculous :biglaughb .... the back seat in an E36 coupe, as tight as it is, is way more accomodating than a G35....BMW does a much better job at making a practical coupe.....
SilverStreak 07-28-2003, 01:59 PM G35 Coupe with a stick is only a few tenths behind the 350Z, so I'd say high 5's for the 0-60 times...
Nice kill!

I couldn't agree more. I just got back from looking at a G35 coupe and my head would nail the rear glass over any sort of bumps. It's almost not even safe in that regard - in an accident my head would nail the glass, not the padded roof.

I had the same problem. It's a case of form over function. It may look pretty, but the design is poor. In fact, I'm not really sure the G35 Coupe is really much more practical than the 350Z....

i cant argue with that...the E36 M3 has looked good for a long ass time.
og325 07-29-2003, 04:47 AM Gotta agree with all of you. The E36 M3 is still a great looking car! I sat in the back of a G35 at the lot and the only way I could even fit in the back was leaning forward with my neck touching the glass! Nissan got it right by not even having a back seat :)

well.. both my girlfriend and good friend have the E46 sedans ... anytime I ever have to sit in the back seat I BANG my head on the pillar... I instantly say POS! E36 is better.. Yes, I taught her all the chassis numbers lol :boink
