I am in my 1994 540, cruising home (in a bit of a hurry). It is an 80km/hr limit road, I am going 100-110. Traffic is medium/light.
I notice some headlights catching up to me. This is a divided road, three lanes each way. It is just getting to be dusk, but still pretty light out.
At first I thought maybe a cop, but as the lights got closer, it was obvious it was not. There is a stretch several km long with no lights, and then it after a bit of a curve, there is lights. As the car passes me ( I wanted to see what is was) I see it is a late model Honda Civic, Silver. I notice a small wing (not too ricy) and some OK looking wheels. The only odd thing was that there were those fake stick on bullet holes EVERYWHERE on the car. Looked pretty strange.
So he passes me, and gets to the lights first. I switch lanes to end up behind him (other lanes were blocked by cars waiting at the lights) I looked at the rear badge, and I thought it said EX. I figure there is no way he will try to pull hard away, but when the lights goes green, he revs it and takes off hard. I give him a bit of distance, maybe two or three cars, and then keep pace through first gear.
As we get clear of the other cars to the right of us, I see a puff of black smoke from his exhaust. This is just as I shift in to 2nd gear (did not rev out in 1st or I would have rear ended him) and I go to the right to pass him. He is hard on it, but as my tach sweeps past 4k, I go by him so fast it is like he hit the brakes. I have my window down, and as I go by him, I can hear his engine screaming hard. I go into 3rd gear, and he is at least 5-7 cars back. I shut down, as we are approaching another set of lights.

We are now beside each other. I look over, but he is staring straight ahead. As we take off. I leave really easy, and as he is beside/passing me I notice the big VTEC (could it have said iVtec?)decal on the rear lower quarter, and the badge on the right rear that I thought said EX was actually an SiR badge (don't ask me how I did notice that the 1st time)

I thought those were faster than that. I mean I really blew by him from 30-100 km/hr. Oh well, it was a fun few seconds anyway. Don't get many challenges, and I don't mind beating down a Honda.

I am in Canada. I have seen several SiR type cars around. At least they have the badges anyway. I am not up on all the Honda stuff, so I take these at face value.
Most of the Hondas here are total rice buckets. Big wings, fart cans, bad lowering kits, body kits that look like stale puke.
The car looked stock except for the bullet holes and wheels.

The SiR is a real screamer when compared to the DX.

When compared to anything with an engine displacment greater than 2.0L liters however, reality strikes. I'd think a 540i would hit particularly hard.

Nice kill, way to bring another ricer down from the clouds.

In canada, SIR is the US Si w/ B16 twin cam VTECH. The Si in canada is SOHC 125HP 1.6L VTECH.

I'd expect you to take out that car quite easily, like that guy said, the SiR in Canada is the same thing as an Si here in the US. And they are nothing really to speak as far as power...... they're torqueless wonders.....

Stats on the civic say it is 160hp / 111 lb/ft torque, with a curb weight of 2750 lbs
Not a lot of torque. Light car though.
I guess I should go looking for bigger game, though it sure is fun to blow away the little 4 bangers with the big decals that try and tell the world how much power is lurking under the hood.
Gotta give those boys a taste of torque every now and then.
