I've had my helmet for a while and figured it would be a good idea to clean the liner. However, it's not removeable. How do you guys clean your helmets?

Spray mine with Lysol, hang it up outside to air out...

or put a little laundry soap on a wet washcloth and scrub out the inside real good.

Febreeze might be good. Lysol is a good idea too.

Local MC shop recommended Fabreeze. I've been doing it about twice a year since with good results.

Note, autocrossers typically don't wear their helmets for longer than five minutes at a time, but at recent Evolution schools they were on for about an hour at a time.

Febreze works pretty well, I also keep 2-3 dryer sheets in it when I store it in the back, takes out a lot of the sweat smell.

The Frebreze sounds like a good final treatment.

I've used cleaners like Woolite and water. Get a wash cloth and give it a light scrubbing. Then alternate between clean water/wash cloth and dry towel. Set outside and air dry.

Worked like a champ. I think after next cleaning I'll use a belaclava(sp?) and just throw it in the wash when it gets grungy.

That's true, unless you're instructing. I've had my helmet on for long periods of time, running back and forth between cars.

Thanks for all the suggestions, everyone.
