View Full Version : Installed the Strongstrut bar today... Very Nice! (Pics)
Koizumi 02-05-2009, 08:49 PM Great product and very easy to install.
The Strongstrut is very well made & looks real nice, too.
It took me a few quick minutes to slap it on today.
If you're thinking about getting one, by all means, do so :)

53helofe 02-05-2009, 09:36 PM Very nice looking. Can you tell a difference in the feel of the car just around town and around some corners?
Eight Ball 02-05-2009, 11:26 PM Glad you like it. Strong Strut makes a great product. I have had 3 so far and the Strong Strut team improves them on each run. Take care.
Regards.

wayneblackwell 02-06-2009, 09:13 AM Looks lovely, I find the only thing which is a PITA is when I want to connect to the diagnostic plug you have to remove the top half of the brace.
Toy72 02-06-2009, 09:50 AM D, as always just awesome, brother.
8Harry8 02-06-2009, 01:13 PM :) I like this technical impression!

The difference over stock is significant. I can feel an immediate difference in feel. Going over slight bumps, general city cruising, dips... The front end feels tighter & much stiffer. The softness of my H&R front springs seems more evened out now, car no longer bounces from side to side on hard curves or mild bumps.
Cheers :)
Chuck850 02-06-2009, 02:34 PM Very nice! Mine is the brushed aluminum.... I'm torn now that I've seen the black one though :)
Auraraptor 02-06-2009, 02:43 PM K, how stiff do the H&R front springs FEEL compared to your stock?
Koizumi 02-06-2009, 03:46 PM ^^^The H&Rs feel somewhat stiffer than stock (difference is felt in curves & overall). The lower center of gravity over stock made my car experience a little more body roll (flex) feel. The strut bar has removed this contortion/flex. In essence, the softer H&Rs really benefit from the strut bar. Please note that H&R are, from my foggy recollection, one of the lowest & softest performance springs for E31 (correct me if I'm wrong).
If you want to go as low as possible and you want great performance/handling, start with slapping on a Strongstrut with your H&Rs.
tdotbimmer 02-06-2009, 06:34 PM Looks nice. Now I need one.
ELIBEEMER 02-06-2009, 08:36 PM did you preload by lifting the body on one side with a carjack, before final tightening?
or do they just slap on ?
8eights 02-06-2009, 09:15 PM Slap! 10 Minutes... Don't torque any of it til the whole thing is assembled on the car.

Very good point, I'm going out to the garage to retorque everything.

Whatever the owners are doing, we DO NOT recommend "pre-loading."
